Here’s the footage. Motorcycles. And yes, at the end, that is Mario busting out a wheelie. What strange days we live in. More »
My PC can’t run Portal. Yes, it’s that old. Shut up. Besides, Orange Box doesn’t come out here until October 25 anyways. Am I lost, then, awash in a sea of salty disappointment? No! Because for the next two weeks I’ve got this to keep me company. Sure, it may be lacking in graphical prowess, but it’s the same basic principle. Here’s the oh-so-cute-don’t-you-just-wanna-smoosh-its-squishy-cheeks trailer to the new Final Fantasy title due on the Wii Ware service. Which for now we’re calling Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: The Small King and the Promised Country. People will hate on the Squeenix aesthetic regardless, but I’m a little intrigued by this. If only because the whole strategy thing (you’re basically building a town) actually looks different. Well, different for Squeenix at any rate. [via Go Nintendo] More »
BioShock‘s music is great. All of it. And while it was nice of 2K to let us have the original composition, it didn’t go quite far enough. We wanted the snazzy “period” recordings scattered throughout the game as well. Handily for record collectors and illegal file-sharing aficionados alike, 2K have sent Microsoft’s Larry Hryb a list of every old-timer song included in the game. So go, run free and grab as many as you’d like. I’d recommend Bing Crosby’s Wrap Your Troubles In Dreams, but I know Flynn’s quite partial to some Django Reinhardt as well. Full list is after the jump.
We’ve heard your bitching. Your moaning, your whining, that Nintendo have forgotten all about you, the “gamer”, as they chase the casual market, pants securely around their ankles. Well they haven’t. Discussing Nintendo’s scoop in securing Monster Hunter 3 for the Wii, boss Satoru Iwata says that the hardcore market is just as important as the old-folks-and-little-girls one:
I understand that some experts argue that our success is short-lived and temporary. So, we now need to make efforts to constantly expand the player base by offering services and titles that can appeal not only to those who have never played games but also to those who play them hard.
That latter group? That’s you lot.

We brought you the first screens a little while back, so here, only fair you get some video to go with ‘em. I don’t know where they get the “intuitive controls” bit from, though. The whole thing looks like a complete dog’s breakfast. Messy!
Get a look at that. It’s the cover of the latest issue of Game Informer. Emblazoned across the front, Tim Schafer’s Brutal Legend. The accompanying text says it’s a “Rock N’ Roll Roadshow”, but that’s not “rock n’ roll”. Doesn’t do it justice. That looks like an interactive Manowar cover. GOTY totally confirmed.

When the PlayStation Eye was first announced, we were told it was going to come bundled with something called the EyeCreate video editing suite. And that was about the last we heard of it. Until today! Sony have posted three videos to their PlayStation blog, aimed at showing off the kind of things EyeCreate can do. The accompanying text says it allows you to this: With EyeCreate you can capture darn near anything and make your own personalised videos… You can also add all sorts of cool effects, record your own sounds and export your video to the XMB. Some of the coolest features include the time-lapse capturing and the stop-motion functionality. If you want to show off your videos, you can drop your creation on a memory stick or USB drive and share it with other PS3 users.
The accompanying videos (rest at the link), however, only show some time-lapse videos to a crummy drum & bass soundtrack. Oh, one last thing before you go: it’ll also be available as a free download from October 23.

Not too interested in the Wii Wheel. Looks tacky, and even with an open mind, I can’t see it working very well. But what do I know. Nintendo are going to release the thing anyway (it’s free with every copy of Mario Kart), so if you’re going to be around one sometime in the next few months, you may as well get acquainted with it. And since we’ve been talking so much about Mario Kart for Wii the last couple of days, you may as well start right now. This is a nice, close-up shot of the wheel. More »
