Well, sort of. Apparently, console sales in Australia have spiked dramatically since the Rudd government bribed us introduced its economic stimulus package.
A Clock Tower movie is coming. Not the most obvious choice for a big screen adaptation, but there you go. Want to take a look at some dark, foreboding posters for the movie?
Our cunning plan to let developers be the judgers instead of the judged continues, this time thanks to Trent Kusters from Melbourne’s Torus Games.
Don’t forget, if you’re Australian and you work in game development, drop us a line and let us know which game (besides the one you worked on, obviously) tickled you the pinkest.
Adam Sessler was kind enough to invite me on to X-Play today to talk about the year in games with Dan Hsu.
Axl Rose wants everyone to believe the band that put out Chinese Democracy was Guns N Roses! It wasn’t. Axl Rose also wants us to believe that Activision are bad people! OK, we’re listening.

In the wake of F.E.A.R. 2′s unbanning, we pinged Warner Bros marketing guy Mark Aubrey to get his thoughts on the classification u-turn. You can read the full Q&A after the jump.
To me, it sounds like they simply spent more time going through the game when demonstrating it to the Review Board. It’s also worth noting that the Classification Board and the Review Board are not the same thing; the latter only ever hears appeals of the former’s decisions. They’re comprised of different people, too, which might also help explain why a different decision was reached.
SEGA dropped us a line just now to say the official Stormrise website has gone live. Why should you care? Well, not only is it a brave take on reinventing the RTS control scheme with dual-stick controllers in mind, but it’s being made at the Creative Assembly studio in Brisbane.
We thought it showed considerable promise in the quick look we had back at E3 (funny how we had to go all the way to Los Angeles to see it) and, of course, there are few studios anywhere in the world who know real-time strategy as well as the Creative Assembly does.
