This is not news. I repeat, NOT NEWS. Still, it’s a pretty great pic. Here, we get a real life look at Down + Fierce Punch (in the air). Somehow, this pic so makes me want to watch Master of the Flying Guillotine again. Yoga Yoga Yoga [Capcom Blog]
My hat’s off to Lionhead for setting a game around the 15th-16th century. It’s a refreshing change from castles and post-apocalyptic wastelands. Not as refreshing as this latest piece of art for the game, however, which feature this strapping young gentlemen offering his…services. Sure, games have featured proponents of the world’s oldest profession before, but not to this level of gender equality. Course, I could be horribly mistaken. Getting “It” could mean the procurement of simple weapons and/or potions, but…it probably doesn’t. Community Call: Episode Six [Lionhead]
Microsoft’s willing to bend the rules! As we posted earlier, the 150 MB file limit that’s standard for Xbox LIVE Arcade titles has been ditched for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Bionic Commando Rearmed. This ensures that Xbox 360 owners and PS3 owners don’t get vastly different games. Does this mean Microsoft is setting a new policy? That the 150 MB limit is a thing of the past? For now, probably not. Though, Bionic Commando producer Ben Judd does think it’s important for Microsoft to look at each Arcade title individually, and apparently Microsoft is doing just that. Says Judd:
Oh, goody. MTV posted two exclusive Grand Theft Auto IV screens. That’s one of them up there! There’s an explosion. Hit the jump for the other.
You can keep your Pixeljunks and your skydivings and your ridiculously-spelled fl0wing. There’s only one PSN game I’m interested in. And that’s WipeOut HD (OK, that and Everyday Shooter). While previous press material had the game pegged for a Q4 release (nnnoooooooo!), SCEE reps have today said they’re actually aiming for a Q2 release (yyyyaaayyyyy!). Holy. Crap. This Pontiac G8 spot isn’t a good ad, this is a great ad. The most amazing thing? It’s a Pontiac ad. Yes, yes, we know. Oh, should you feel like reading more about this car, sister site Jalopnik has you covered.
Thanks, Josh!
Turns out the now-famous GameTraders in Perth isn’t the only store selling Rock Band PS3 bundles.
Independent retailer Game Mania, based in Ringwood, Victoria, also has it in stock, according to Costa Gavras (who I’m assuming runs the business).
As with GameTraders, the price is $399, so consider your purchase wisely.
Anyone know of somewhere in NSW that’s stocked up on Rock Band packs? Because we’d love to hear from you…
As far as Starcraft 2 clips go, the Terrans are OK, I guess, but they’re so…boring. And primitive. Like space-faring savages. It’s much nicer watching nine minutes of gameplay footage featuring the refined Protoss faction instead, complete with soothing, educational voice-over work. Sure, it may be “old”, but a lot of people haven’t seen it, so up it goes.
Heeeey, wait a minute. If Army of Two’s multiplayer was (apparently) region-locked due to – what amounts to – lag between international players, does that mean future EA games will be doing the same thing?
Gaming themed shirts? Check. Gaming themed socks? Ditto. Gaming themed corsets? Hrm. This must be a first for Kotaku: a Mario corset. From the Etsy page:
A supercute corset made from alternating RARE & vintage Super Mario Brothers and red & white polka dot print fabric, topped off with bias tape flanking the bodice, a delicate sweetheart-shaped bustline, two polka dot ribbon bows, crude contrast stitching and silver metal grommets in the back so you can lace up! FULLY boned for support.
Fully what? Hit the jump for view of the back.
