See Sega Exploit Cat Cuteness For DS Game

11:40PM Brian Ashcraft | Such a soothing clip. Feeling… so… sleepy… SEGA’s Yume Neko is perfect for either people unable to purchase felines or those who totally hate the ones they already own. Everybody wins. Thanks, SEGA! Yume Neko DS [Gemaga] More »

Yet Another Promising HL2 Mod

11:20PM Luke Plunkett | Yes, Hull-Breach is another HL2 mod. But it’s also one that’s got a crew of over 20 and has been in production for years, and features its own custom-built universe, (with some very nice concept art) about a war set 2000 years in the future. Sure, like most HL2 mods we seem to post on this may never go anywhere, but hey, it may also go somewhere. The project’s “blog” link (complete with soundtrack and artwork) is below. Arse Flasher Idol Planning More Arse Flashery

11:00PM Brian Ashcraft | Tush thong lady speaks! “Singer” and swimsuit model Asuka Sawamoto has hiked up her mini skirt to Akihabara nerds many times. No big whoop for her! It is for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, who have been cracking down after her flashing incidents ended up on Yahoo! News Japan. Sure, we’ve all seen Asuka’s hindquarters, but what about the woman behind the behind? What does she thing of the ballyhoo? The 22 year-old self-described “multi-sexy idol” says: More »

Capcom Monster Hunter Monster PSP Holder

10:00PM Brian Ashcraft | Get a grip! Peripheral maker MSY has released out this officially Capcom licensed, enormous steering wheel peripheral thing called the “MONSTER HUNTER GRIP.” It’s for the PSP Slim & Lite and totally defeats the purpose of both the “slim” and the “lite” part. We guess it’s to make it easier to hold onto your PSP during hour after hour of Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G play. It’ll also make it easier for you to look like a goober. EVE Online Gets New Faces, Places

9:30PM Luke Plunkett | If you’re at all interested in EVE Online, and can remember back to June 2007, you’ll remember CCP’s Magnus Bergsson saying that women don’t want to be spaceships. What they preferred (and I’m guessing a lot of people who aren’t women also preferred) was to interact with people face-to-face. More »

Japanese People Love Nintendo Software

9:00PM Brian Ashcraft | Now that the Japanese financial year is over, we can talk about the Japanese financial year. Hardware and software sales were up in 2007. Biggest selling game console in Japan last year? The Nintendo DS. SHOCKING! Here’s how the hardware sales played out: More »

Koei Turning 30, For They Are Jolly Good Fellows

8:30PM Luke Plunkett | Happy Birthday Koei! The venerable old Japanese company turns 30 this year, and rather than mark the occasion with drunken revelry masking an ever-growing sense of despair at their advancing years and fears of ever finding that special “someone”, they’ve released a nice logo. Oh, and in July will be releasing a new Nobunaga game on the DS. Good times all round! More »

Doki Doki Majo Shinpan 2 Offers Better Butt Touching

8:00PM Brian Ashcraft | Was SNK satisfied with Doki Doki Majo Shinpan’s schoolgal boob flicking? No, SNK was not. What about with the boy butt touching? No, SNK was not. So for the DS game’s sequel, Doki Doki Majo Shinpan 2 Duo, the developer vamped things up. Yes, it added better butt touching (hello butt flicking!). This leaves us wonder: How will SNK ever top this innovation? We fear SNK might’ve shot its load prematurely with Duo. Please, think of the next sequel! Hit the jump for the demo clip. More »

Online Idiots Affecting The Entire Industry?

7:30PM Luke Plunkett | The homophobes, racists and straight-up assholes you often run into on Xbox Live or other online gaming setups aren’t just ruining your game, they’re holding back the entire industry. So says former Microsoft game user research head Bill Fulton, speaking with Gamasutra: More »

“People Don’t Want Philosophical Marcus Fenix”

7:00PM Brian Ashcraft | Uncharted has been described as “the best game ever made about a dude in a T-shirt”. That’s a pretty fair description! Josh Scherr, lead cinematics animator for developer Naughty Dog, says the goal was to make Nathan Drake and regular dude, but one who was fully fleshed out and believable. Scherr says this about characterisation in video games, mentioning Epic’s Gears of War: More »
