Wii Gets A Pretty New GameCube Controller

Gorgeous. Nintendo are releasing sometime later this month a new, white GameCube controller, no doubt to satisfy the growing throngs of not only Smash Bros (and soon to be Mario Kart) players, but Wii-white console colour fetishists as well. It’ll retail for a suggested price of ¥2000 (around $US 20), comes with the requisite 3m cable and, as you’ve probably figured from that squiggly thing in front of the 2000, is at least for the moment Japan-only. Karl Lagerfeld In Grand Theft Auto IV, Loves Being Politcially Incorrect

And now announcing for Grand Theft Auto IVKarl Lagerfeld? The influential fashion designer will be one of the game’s radio station D.J.s. Makes sense as he apparently owns like over 70 iPods and 60,000 CDs. Lagerfeld said that his relationship with Rockstar was “friendship at first sight.” What’s more, the fashion designer says: They are the games of our times. Those games in a way changed the world…. They had written a politically incorrect dialogue… I loved it, [particularly]in a time when everybody wants to be so politically correct when they talk… “I prefer to be in a video than to play with it. I would love to be a very nasty, politically incorrect character.

So don’t think of Karl Lagerfeld as an iconic fashion designer, but a wanna-be politically incorrect one. Lagerfeld in GTAIV [New York Mag Thanks, 108!]

Real Creepy Mario Now Talking Real Creepy

Thought it couldn’t get creepier than the real life Mario? Oh man, yes it can, yes it can. The freakazoid now moves and, worse yet, talks. The animation was created by Deviant artist Portrix by using “Crazy Talk 5 Pro” to honour the originally, nightmare-inducing Mario. Link below is scary. Animated Scary mario [Boundless Thanks, Z!]

First Street Fighter Movie Production Images

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li dropkicks an official movie blog. The first update provides a full cast list as well as info about the director (“Relax, you’re in good hands”), actor Michael Clarke Duncan (“…this mand does ALL HIS OWN STUNTS…”) and cockteasing about who will play GEN (“our first official scoop”). Though, I’m confused, how can the movie’s official blog have a scoop? Should that be “first official press release”?

The blog does have some movie storyboards from artist Ted Boonthanakit. There’s shooting and running. Don’t remember shooting and running from the Street Fighter games, but whatever! Hit the jump for a look.

PS3 Call Of Duty 4 Maps Inbound

The long-lost PS3 iterations of Call of Duty 4′s first map pack aren’t looking so lost these days. Infinity Ward have announced that the PS3 maps are done and have been submitted to Sony for certification. From there, all it’ll take from Sony is for them to certify that they’re awesome, and you PS3 owners should be good to go. Provided the PSN doesn’t make like Xbox Live and crash & burn from the strain, that is. PS3 DLC In Certification [IAMfourzerotwo]

Has WoW Peaked?

World of Warcraft’s big. Bigger than the Beatles and Jesus combined. But it can’t last forever, and one day, sure as the sun rises, it will peak, before beginning the slow, torturous decline into oblivion. Any bets on when that peak will occur? If you ask THQ’s Jack Sorenson, it’s right now:

Budget Japanese Sega Shirts (The Exchange Rate Sucks)

Sega has teamed up with Japanese clothes retailer to make, you guessed it, Sega Uniqlo shirts. There are Virtua Fighter, House of the Dead and Sonic shirts. I quite like that hedgehog one right up there. The shirts cost US ¥1,500 ($US 14.63). Oh geez, just look at that exchange rate. So sad. The shirts though, they’re pretty cool. Australian GTA IV PS3 Bundle Incoming?

Kotaku AU

Tweaktown is reporting that Australia will receive a GTA IV PS3 bundle similar to the one that Kotaku US caught wind of recently. The bundle, which includes a 40GB PS3 and a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV, will retail for $749.

This means you could grab the game for $50, taking the $699 price of a standalone 40GB unit into account. Of course, you need to firstly not own a PS3 and secondly, not own a PS3. Same point, yes, but important enough to mention twice.

Tweaktown says this info comes from a retail source, so we’re on Sony and Rockstar’s cases for confirmation.

What about Xbox 360 owners? Microsoft already has you covered, as long as you’ve pre-ordered.
