Ah, the Cole Train. Not exactly the deepest of characters. Says Morgan Grey, Senior Producer at Crystal Dynamics: Here’s the thing: Cole Train on his own, no harm no foul. But what is Cole Train? Cole Train is basically like every other effin’ black character in a video game. Like here comes the urban stereotype. Where is this 1990′s — not even 2000 — black slang, where does this fit in this futuristic world that doesn’t even take place on Earth? They go really far to do a lot of fictional justifications for this culture that they’ve built, and they go right back to this urban stereotype for the black character.

Various European retailers are showing listings for a Grand Theft Auto IV PS3 bundle. Euro retailer Bart Smit lists “Playstation 3 Gta-4 Pack” above the regular and special editions of the game. Ah, Operation Darkness. A tactical RPG set in WWII. But with vampires and werewolves. Last time we saw it, I was getting a little down on it. The fact they were pretty rough trailers may have contributed. But this? This has revived my flagging spirits. Mostly because it’s as cheesy as a triple-cheese sandwich with cheese for bread. And I do like cheese.
Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Batman, you can see why they’re made. Those kind of properties make money. Bubba Ho-Tep, on the other hand…the marketing possibilities are somewhat limited. Which doesn’t bother mod-maker trepaning from putting together Bubba Lego-Tep, a mod that doesn’t only take the Elvis v Mummy masterpiece and make a Lego game out of it, it’s done via the Doom 3 engine.
