Devil May Cry… Darts?

Darts? Dangerous. Devil May Cry darts? Extra dangerous. Reader Landon writes:

I was at some game center/bowling/darts place and I saw these Devil May Cry darts in the window. I’m a huge DMC fan, so I would’ve bought them if they were cheaper, but I couldn’t justify the $US 25 price tag.

Obviously the only justification for Devil May Cry darts is that they are DMC darts. Just think of the combo insanity!

Think Hyundai, Think Baseball, Think The Nintendo Wii

Local television commercial schtick, baseball, Wii Sports, Hyundais, Nissans, this ad for classy, up-market car dealership Hamilton Nissan has it all. Though I’m a little suspicious at the editing on that last sequence, with the “easy” home runs. I don’t remember them being that easy, but then…ah, forget it, these guys are car salesmen, who are we to doubt their integrity? [via Go Nintendo]

Del Toro Loves BioShock, Mehs Movie

Since earlier this year, there have been rumours of an inevitable no-brainer BioShock movie. If true, that adaptation would need a proven director who’s able to handle dark, atmospheric movies. That adaptation would need Hellboy director Guillermo de Toro. The helmer writes on his official message board:

Capcom Trademarks Spyborgs

Last week, Capcom went and registered the trademark Spyborgs. Two weeks before that, they registered the domain name spyborgs.com, which at time of writing sits empty and unused. This of course means absolutely nothing right now, but at an unspecified future time, when writing about Capcom’s official unveiling of the exciting new Spyborgs franchise, we’ll be able to link on back to this post and show you where it all began. Coin-Op NES

Want to play? Get out those coins. Here’s a coin-operated Famicom that was hooked up to standard TVs in Japanese hotels and inns. One hundred yen coin got players 10~15 minutes of playtime. There’s a Zapper and everything! Hit the jump for the pricier Super Famicom, which only doled out 5 minutes of playtime for a hundred yen. Well, it was “Super.” Super expensive!

Nintendo Of America To Build Some New Digs?

Looks like Nintendo are up to something. First they sell a bunch of land on their Redmond HQ to Microsoft. Then they move a bunch of people to San Francisco and New York. It’s almost as if they’re hinting at something. Something like the fact Nintendo of America are thinking about moving house? Bet on it.

A Plane Made of Kid

We’re not sure if this is adorable or cruel! Kotaku commenter Purple-Penguin writes:

My son is dressed as a plane, a radio controlled plane, or you can look at it as I made a plane out of my son.

Here’s what’s going on: Dress up as an aeroplane or make a three dimensional aeroplane out of anything tangible, but paper. So you can’t make CGI planes! And you can’t draw them either! But, you can make them out of anything else as long as it’s not paper. Rocks, clay, toothpicks, whatever! And remember, that means make and not build a plastic plane model you bought in the store. Send entries to kotakucontestATgmailDOTcom and, like all contests, don’t forget to add a “Kotaku” sign. Remember, we’re giving away two copies of Ace Comabt 6 and INTERNET FAME. One copy for the best plane cosplay, the other for the best crafted plane.

Hit the jump for reader Adam’s plane, which he based off the Wright Flyer and made entirely out of Q-tips!

TrackWork: D&D Combat Tool For Initiatives, HP and More

Kotaku AU

Last year I posted a small program I coded for my monthly sessions of D&D. I wasn’t happy with any of the freely available tools for keeping track of initiatives in combat and decided a custom app would be best.

Yes, I’m a huge nerd. Yes, this is a bit off-topic. As such, interested parties can keep reading after the jump, while everyone else can enjoy their social lives.
