It will be interesting to see how Ninja Blade fares against Ninja Gaiden, but so far so good. Just a few days ago we posted about a dozen screens of the game and today we got some more. Unfortunately, it still maybe a little too early to see how this “Ninja Vision” gameplay mechanic will work out, but the game looks… promising?
The PlayStation 3′s got two new peripherals coming up. One a snazzy new chatpad, one a snazzy new Bluetooth headset. Sure, we’ve seen both before, but we’ve seen them as press photos. Those can be kind of fuzzy, kind of smooth, kind of, well, fake. They don’t show the real stuff. These do! galleryPost('pspads', 3, 'PlayStation 3 Peripherals');
Peter Molyneux told me today that his decision to pour much of the emotional connection of upcoming role-playing game Fable II into the lead character’s furry companion seemed justified after he ran into a duo of gamers in the lobby of his hotel earlier this week.
And we’re back with more thrilling female cameo info about Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 (aka Yakuza 3)! SEGA announced that fashion model Ayana Tsubaki would be appearing in-game as an oil massage therapist, joining seven models from Japanese magazine Koakuma Ageha. They talk it up as in-game nightclub hostesses. At SEGA’s Tokyo Game Show booth, three of them showed up, including Sayaka Araki, Shizuka Muto and Osaka-native Rina Sakurai who I interviewed for the arcade book I wrote. She’s a really nice, smart person. About appearing in-game, Sakurina said it was really strange for her to speak the Tokyo dialect.

Yes, it can use the classic controller and remember, this is for the Wii. You would almost forget looking at these screens. Monster Hunter 3 (tri) is one of the most visually appealing Wii games yet. The game is playable at TGS, if you’re willing to wait in line. As for the rest of us, we’ll just enjoy these screens for now. galleryPost('mh31009', 3, 'Monster Hunter Gallery');
When asked how No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle was different from No More Heroes, Grasshopper Manufacture’s Goichi Suda jokingly pointed out that the titles were not the same and that in-game outfits had changed as well. M’kay! “We wanted to do it for the Xbox 360,” Suda said, “but the Wii’s motion controlled interface feels the best.” For Suda, that interface is exactly what No More Heroes is.
Konami has both Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia and Castlevania Judgment on display at Tokyo Game Show this year, but it brought a tiny, tiny bit more with it, just to start messing with our heads. A new Castlevania has been announced for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3… at some point in the future. That is absolutely all that we know at this point, as both Konami reps and series lead Koji Igarashi are being mum on what we can expect.
There are many types of creepy. There is, for instance, the zipper-chested Sackboy creepy, the kind that gives you nightmares of creeping death and knit intestines. Then you have Were creepy, the glaring, overly happy, spring in your step kind that makes you wonder whose intestines this particular bit of anthropomorphic IP just choked down to get so happy.
It’s official! According to the BlizzCon 2008 program guide, Blizzard fans and member of the press who just happen to be covering the event for some gaming blog will be able to get their hands on Diablo III later today when the show floor opens. From the program guide:
Every evening, as the show winds up, the women of Tokyo Game Show line up to form a vast wall of companionship in front of their respective booth to say goodbye to those who stuck around to the bitter end of the day’s proceedings. It’s kind of a neat custom. Also, it makes for great photos and such.
