Fighting games are about timing. These games are razor sharp, competitive. Konami’s Wii fighter Castlevania Judgement is different: It’s not really about timing and the input isn’t so important. It’s as sharp as a bowling ball. Lead Castlevania Konami Koji Igarashi explains:
Two men have been arrested in Northern Ireland after police found a bunch of counterfeit Wii consoles in the back of their car. Not Viis, or any other kind of trademark-dodging contraption, but “fake Nintendo Wii consoles”. The pair were aged 22 and 19. Now’s as good a time to remind you as any that, with Christmas coming up, if you can’t find a Wii on a retail store shelf, whatever you do, don’t buy a Wii from a shifty-looking Irishman selling them from the boot of his car. There’s a chance you’ll regret your purchase.

Magazine PSM3 reviewed upcoming title Fallout 3. It’s an exclusive review, and a review that’s been leaked onto the internet. One link from that review seems to have stuck out: “The PS3 version compares poorly to its Xbox and PC counterparts.” Thankfully, PSM3 is putting out fires and explaining what the publication meant by that.
You know this whole Quantum Code thing we’ve been mentioning a lot, over the last few days… well we really want a Kotakuan to win it. And it’s not just because there’s 15k worth of Sony Prizes up for grabs. No no no. It’s about pride, self worth, motivation. The sense of achievement you get in winning something that doesn’t just exist in a games console. The… meh, who are we kidding. It is about that 15k of prizes.. and the bragging rights, of course.
So, remember if you want to get the final clue and have any chance of winning the booty, bring your phone, your thinking caps and the first six codes to the really really big event at the Sony Central at World Square in Sydney, midday tomorrow.
If you’re not in Sydney, check out the Quantum Central Forum to find a recruit.
And if you’ve been too lazy to follow the whole saga from the beginning, hit the jump for the last of the clues we promised earlier.
Just received word from Blizzard reps about this great new service for those who *know* their guild means more to them than any real world sports team ever could. Swagdog is now creating custom WoW apparel, converting your guild crest into a T-shirt or hoodie. It tricks it out with your guild name, character name, realm, and battlegroup. Plus icons for class, race, and faction. This is some very geeky gear… and I just wish they’d do a baseball cap with embroidered guild crest. That’d be my apparel of choice on this one.

Here’s Meet-The-DSi Nintendo clip. It runs down the features we’ve already covered, but does it in Japanese. The DSi goes on sale in Japan on November 1st. Alright, who’s buying? Who’s not?

It was Monday we heard 3D Realms boss Scott Miller hating on the Max Payne movie. Monday of this week. Now it’s Thursday, and what do we see, but 3D Realms boss Scott Miller being totally in love with the Max Payne movie. “To be clear, I’m proud of this film” he told Edge.
While LittleBigPlanet is officially under recall and should not be available for another week or two, it seems there are some retailers who may have missed the memo. Hellerphant has shared some interesting findings from some research today as he called around to try and get his hands on a copy just in case. Surely he was kidding himself?
I found most Harvey Norman outlets have stock in Victoria, and three of the five I called were willing to sell me a copy (picked mine up for $105 today). Also a few Dick Smith Stores in NSW/ACT: Woden PowerHouse; VIC: Chadstone; Large Store QLD: Townsville Powerhouse; SA: Elizabeth Powerhouse.
We made a couple of calls ourselves and found the Woden store had changed their tune but one regional Harvey Norman store confirmed they have copies available right now. We checked in with Sony Computer Entertainment and they were pretty concerned, so while you may get lucky with a few regionals right now, expect this breach to be shut down before the afternoon is out.
It was kind of an anti-climax to see the first BioShock 2 trailer as a piece of user-generated s-s-shaky cam. Ruined the mood. The breezy ambience. So let’s all pretend we never saw the shitty version, and instead, pretend this proper version of the trailer is all new. One thing’s for sure seeing it in a higher resolution; that little sister’s not so little anymore.
According to, we guess, people who already have the game, Sony have thrown up an update for LittleBigPlanet, taking the game from version 1.00 to the far more polished-sounding version 1.01. Interestingly, it appears Tapha Niang – the song that started all this fuss – is still in the game. Hopefully that means all they did was fix a few niggling bugs, and dub over the Qur’an-quoting references with “I’m Buddy Rich when I fly off the handle”.
