Good Heavens, You Got Zombies In My Call Of Duty

11:20PM Luke Plunkett | As revealed over the weekend, Call of Duty: World at War will be taking a leaf (or every leaf) out of Left 4 Dead’s book by implementing a co-op, zombie shooting game mode. Here’s what it looks like. Like Left 4 Dead, but with Nazis. More »

BBC: Media Molecule Already Making LittleBigPlanet Sequel

11:00PM Brian Ashcraft | The BBC reports that even though the game hasn’t hit shops, developer Media Molecule is already at work on a LittleBigPlanet sequel. What’s more, Media Molecule is in talks with Sony to spin off LBP into comics, cartoons and toys — plus, the possibility of a LittleBigPlanet publishing platform for other IP’s content. More »

This Hula Wii Ad Looks Bad

10:40PM Brian Ashcraft | Don’t throw out that Balance Board just yet! There are third party games being made for it, such as the previously mentioned Hula Wii. The game is out October 30, and there’s no word of a Western release date yet. Hopefully the game is better than the commercial, because this commercial is the ad equivalent of shovelware. Mirror’s Edge Demo On November 6?

10:20PM Luke Plunkett | GameStop are taking preorders for Mirror’s Edge. Surprise! Well, it is a surprise, actually, since at the foot of their preorder pages lies a little red note in little red text. Says that a Mirror’s Edge demo will be available on November 6. And it says that on both the 360 and PS3 pages. November 6 is a Thursday, so at least the PS3 side of it sounds plausible, though we must stress (in italics!) that this is coming from GameStop, not EA, so don’t go taking November 6 off work just yet. No More European PSN Delays?

9:30PM Luke Plunkett | The European PlayStation Store is a bit of a mess. Europeans will know what I’m talking about. Rarely does a demo or PSN title arrive in Europe at the same time as it does in the US and Canada; indeed, it can be weeks and sometimes even months before games like Echocrome make it to the old world. It’s something that makes Europeans unhappy. And is something that may be a thing of the past. At the Casual Connect get-together last week in Kiev, Sony’s George Bain revealed that the company have revised their online content approvals process. Where previously stuff like PSN titles had to be submitted to each region separately – ie you had to get it approved by SCEA, SCEE and Sony Japan – the company now have a centralised approvals process. Whether that actually makes a difference or not, we’ll have to wait and see, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction. The Chrono Trigger Marriage Proposal Hacks

9:00PM Brian Ashcraft | Ah yes, to be a nerd and in love. Instead of a pedestrian proposal, an individual known as TheRealPfhreak hacked Chrono Trigger to ask for his girlfriend’s hand. There’s a clip of the hack, and it’s on the long side, so if your attention span is as short as ours, skip ahead to around the 6:20 mark for the money shot. Here’s TheRealPfhreak: On October 17th, 2008, I proposed to my (now) Fiance. Originally I wanted to return to the site of our first date, Mount Baker, near Bellingham Washington. Sadly, there was no discrete way to get her out there. So I turned to the next best thing, digitally recreating the mountain! More »

Miyamoto On How His Way of Working Has Changed

8:00PM Brian Ashcraft | Brain Training is really Studying: The Game. Wii Fit is Standing Straight: The Game. Wii Music is Noodling: The Game. There’s nothing wrong with that approach. Those games are popular, and they’ve made Nintendo gobs of money. Nintendo didn’t always make those kind of games. Shigeru Miyamoto explains his change in approach: More »

7:30PM Luke Plunkett | Just like Microsoft in Europe, Sony Japan are going bananas for hardware bundles this holiday season.
