Blue Dragon DS Trailer
11:20PM Luke Plunkett | Hope you’re looking for some Blue Dragon DS footage. Hope you weren’t, at the same time, looking for gameplay footage, because you won’t find any here. What you will find is proof that Mistwalker, Feelplus and Brownie Brown (who all teamed up on the game) know full well that the DS can do JRPG pre-rendered scenes just fine, thank you very much. 11:00PM Brian Ashcraft | The PlayStation 2 is far from dead, and the console is outselling the PS3. With Sony Europe’s developer relations manager George Bain announcing that it’s no longer necessary for developers to submit upcoming titles to Sony for content approval, don’t expect the PS2 to die off anytime soon. The platform is now open, and this action will certain spur on a spate of low-cost titles. Bain cited territories like Russia and India that are now able to “create low-development cost titles and release them in their market”. Dev kits are still a necessity, but there are no longer PS2 licensing fees. “This has never been done before,” notes Bain. “This is something we’re actively promoting.” More »Xenosaga Figure Is 8′ Of Hair, Norgs

9:30PM Luke Plunkett | I picture Microsoft Europe not as a bunch of men in suits, but as a single man up on stage at a karaoke night. Dressed in his best Freddie Mercury white lycra and shelltops, belting out “DONT STOP ME NOW”. Because, believe it or not, this is the TENTH Xbox 360 bundle Europe will be seeing this holiday season. Tenth. This one’s aimed squarely at the casual user/lapsed Sony fanboy, as it offers an Arcade 360, a copy of Lips and your only chance of ever seeing the iNiS logo on the front of a console. More »
This Retro Aussie Space Invaders Song Is Great
9:00PM Brian Ashcraft | Back in 1980, when Taito’s Space Invaders ruled arcades, Australian band Player One cashed in on the craze with its song Space Invaders. Not a bad song! It hit the top of the Australian charts. This website even has the song lyrics. This video made my morning, tomorrow morning, too. More »Europe Has Been Good, Might Get Rock Band 2 For Christmas
8:30PM Luke Plunkett | Despite the fact many parts of Europe are only just getting Rock Band 1, a PR company hired by EA to handle the series has told Eurogamer that the UK can expect to see Rock Band 2 “this side of Christmas”. EA UK proper have of course since denied this, saying a date is yet to be announced, but that sounds more like ass-covering than genuine ignorance. 8:00PM Brian Ashcraft | The most recent issue of Japanese magazine Shonen Jump has a couple new DISSIDIA screens of characters Terra and Kefka from Final Fantasy VI. Both have been announced previously. There is a close-up look at Terra’s EX Mode “Trance,” too. That’s after the jump. More »Chaos;Head Noah, More Japan-Specific Xbox 360 Content
8:00PM Brian Ashcraft | As announced back in late August, the smash hit computer visual novel Chaos;Head is getting an Xbox 360 port of the sci-fi thriller. The story follows a high schooler who discovers a brutal murder while heading home. The murders continue and the student tries to contend with the reality that unravels around him. The port is called Chaos:Head Noah, and the game’s website indicates that the console version should be getting new content when released February 2009. New content is good. A just released and slightly risky screenshot after the jump. More »
