Here’s your PC gaming good news story for the day: CD Projekt Red have announced today that, since the game was first released in 2007, The Witcher has sold over a million copies. That’s including both versions of the game, the original as well as the “Enhanced Edition”. For a traditional PC RPG, made by an obscure Eastern European developer with a silly name, those are great, great numbers. Congrats!

Ten killed? Are there even ten zombies in this entire game? A new batch of Dead Rising Wii has been released, showing off things like the in-game attacks with a fire extinguisher and guitar, but not showing hoards of zombies.
Nintendo quietly slipped out a giant release schedule today. It contains dates, or at least windows, or at least a vague guess at a release year, for most of the company’s already-announced first-party and third-party titles. The schedule covers all three major regions too, so yes, Europe, even you can join the party on this one. Click through for the full breakdown.
Cashing in on election fever, EA today announced that, as part of an upcoming update for Mercenaries 3, both Sarah Palin and Barack Obama will be made available as playable characters. Palin in her trademark red jacket and hair, Obama in his trademark…suit. Sounds a little nutty, but seeing Obama punch a swarthy Venezuelan in the face is a lot funnier than you can probably imagine.

Signing the Beatles (or at least the people handling their song rights) to a music game can’t have been easy for MTV. And it definitely can’t have been cheap. While not disclosing just how much MTV paid them for the rights to the Fab Four’s tunes, Martin Bandier – who is CEO of Sony/ATV Music Publishing – has said:
So. EA are making a game based on Dante’s Inferno. The Dante’s Inferno. Not 1997′s Dante’s Peak. 1308′s Dante’s Inferno, part of Dante’s classic Divine Comedy. Except, of course, the game won’t be a literal interpretation. Instead it will, according to Variety, be “a modern interpretation of the epic poem and will have players fighting their way through the depths of hell”. The game’s yet to be officially announced, but film studios are already locked in a bidding war for rights to the reimagined property, explaining how it popped up on Variety’s radar. They say the game will be out late in 2009.
Last weekend the Timezone Tekken 6 National Final was held in Sydney, with NSW entrant Andrew taking the title and the trip to International Finals in the Phillippines in December. Go on, tell us in the comments how much better you are, and that if you’d bothered to enter you’d have kicked their butts — you know you want to! [Thanks Kevin]
Get out the glow sticks if you’ve got ‘em! Here’s a Halo 3 light show show spectacular. While on the long side (seven minutes of this, woah), the underling concept is neat: Use Halo 3 light effects to trippy ends. It could be shorter and better edited, but like we said, the basic idea is there.
