At Capcom event in Tokyo’s Shinagawa yesterday, it was announced that Street Fighter IV will be out February 2009. What’s more, initial orders of the game in Japan will ship with the original Street Fighter ~Aratanaru Kizuna~ (Street Figher: Renewed Bonds) animation. This featurette runs 50-60 minutes in length.

It’s Christmas time. Least as far as shopping goes. And at Christmas time, people go a little crazy. Which is why the charts look a little schizophrenic this (well, last) week. Games like Fallout 3 and Fable II are where you expect them to be. Games like Brain Training and Wii Play aren’t where…OK, actually, it’s Britain, it’s Christmas time, those two and Wii Fit are exactly where we expect them to be.
Dude Huge, AKA Cliff Bleszinski, won’t say who he’s voting for, but does offer that he’s registered to vote and “a fan of change.”
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata doesn’t seem like the biggest fan of the price drop. He says:
The DSi has only be out a few days in Japan, and one discerning individual has already found an enterprising use for it: Anime boobs. Hit the jump for the clip. Might be NSFW depending on where you work.
Capcom’s Christian Svensson has told company forum users that Super Street Fighter II HD has been submitted for approval on both 360 and PS3. And that, as a result, “November is the target month” for a release of the game. Which means we may have to can it with the “oh it’s never actually coming out” routine. May. There’s still 3 or so weeks left for something else to come along and delay the project!
Do we get it at the same time? [Capcom, thanks Doug!]
The main draw for DS Sound is the new SD card slot. Out with the GBA slot, the SD card slot enables users to put sound clips or music on their SD cards and then pop them into the DSi. A nice addition for some.
After waiting outside for the DSi, customers at the Bic Camera in Osaka’s Namba were brought inside to wait some more. The light snaked right past the Xbox 360 game display, giving customers ample opportunity to look at all those Japan-centric titles and look at…uh-oh… Like at the Akihabara Yodobashi Camera display, some demos were running, but some weren’t for a very good reason. That, after the jump!
You know what, I liked Viewtiful Joe. Looked good, played good, was fun. Would have liked him more if he was mute, but whaddyagonnado. So it’s nice to see the guy again, even if it is in a cameo role, as Capcom have announced that he’s the latest character to appear in Japanese fighter Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Sadly there’s no mention of whether he can actually slow time outside of gimmicky special attacks (and we doubt the game could handle that), but just knowing the little red guy’s OK is enough good news for today.
