Pin-Up Model Finds Neat, Cheap DS Lite USB Adaptor

This is something we’ve never seen. (If you have, well, good for you!) Pictured is a USB adaptor that lets you charge your DS Lite. Rather handy for those who either don’t have their cable with them or are too lazy to walk over to the electrical outlet. Best part? It only costs the equivalent of $1.60. Spotted at a 100 yen shop (think a two dollar store) by pin-up model Ai Amano. Thanks for that, pin-up model Ai Amano!

Car Insurance Provider Deftly Avoids MTV, Activision Lawsuits

Never let it be said SafeAuto, providers of automobile insurance to the American south since 1993, don’t know what’s hot with the kids. They know Rock Band is hot with the kids. Or Guitar Hero: World Tour. One of the two. But not specifically either of them. Get any more specific and SafeAuto will be speaking with lawyers representing MTV and/or Activision.

San Francisco Lich King Launch Gets Ugly

The Powell Street GameStop started its World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King launch party at 8 pm sharp — but many fans lined up outside the store as early as 6 am. “I’m not a nerd,” said one chair-sitting fan. “Really – I just came here to laugh at people.”

EA Officially Going After Wii Fit With ‘EA Sports Active’

Remember when EA said they were looking at ways they could take a chunk out of Nintendo’s Wii Fit market? Well, they found a way. Aimed primarily at the ladies, new title EA Sports Active will, like Peter Moore said a few weeks back, be targeted at a more Western style of fitness, as opposed to Wii Fit’s reliance on stuff like Yoga. EA Sports Active will include over 20 more active pursuits like running, programs like a calorie counter and “virtual personal trainer”, and even go down the Wii Sports path with simulations of games like tennis.

Look Ma, I’m A Death Knight!

Merely an hour after returning triumphantly home fro the World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King launch at my local GameStop, and I’m already under the thrall of the Lich King himself. This is my new Death Knight, Quality, my old Paladin having given his life so that she could have a relatively good name. She joins the countless ranks of other Death Knights being created all around the world as we speak.

Adult iDOLM@STER Computer Game Copies PSP Packaging

Namco Bandai’s popular pop idol sim THE iDOLM@STER has gone portable and hit Japanese PSPs. Previously, the series was only available in its original arcade version and ensuing Xbox 360 one. THE iDOLM@STER has players train young girls to become pop stars. Like anything popular there is of course a smutty version. And there is! The recently released THE iDOL REVOLUTION is very much an adult game. Here’s a product description: “Yuji works for a talent agency. One day, he takes in charge of a new project called the “Idol Revolution”. His mission is to train five rookie idols, Misaki, Sayaka, Kana, Momoka, and Ayano. Surrounded by five unique idols, he works hard every day. As he himself grows up as a project leader, the idols gradually fall in love with him….” iDOL REVOLUTION goes further than simply knocking off the PSP iDOLM@STER SP — the erotic computer game actually pays homage the game’s PSP packaging! Wonder what “PFP” means. On second thought, no, no we don’t.

Replica Gears Lancers Broken, Here’s How You Fix ‘Em

Having problems making your new replica Gears of War Lancer Assault Rifle go “pew pew pew”? You’re not alone. Turns out there are a ton of people whose guns are kinda busted, thanks to a manufacturing error whereby every single gun had its battery connectors wired for Asian batteries, not US or European ones. Never knew there was any difference, but hey, there you go. Seems this meant that when you pulled the trigger, your batteries weren’t doing anything, and your gun, it wasn’t doing anything either. Makers NECA have come up with a workaround for the problem (“a small thin metal plate, with instruction sheet”), click through for details on how to get your hands on one (as well as the full statement).

PC Sales Charts

The NPD sales charts are traditionally a little…sketchy when it comes to PC sales. But for the week ending November 1, they look right on the money, with Fallout 3 taking not just the top spot, but 3rd and 9th spot as well with the two collectors editions. With the game still charting well on both Steam and Direct2Drive, you can easily see where a lot of those 4.7 million shifted copies went.
