Resident Evil 5 Screens: Covered In Flying Zombie Bat Discharge

11:20PM Luke Plunkett | Sorry for the unsavoury headline, but, uh, we’re pretty sure that’s what’s happening in the above picture. A zombie bat, flying around, covering heroine Sheva Alomar in…discharge. Maybe it’s a marinade. Who knows. Oh, anyone disappointed at the lack of focus on zombie dirt bike riders in the headline – or the post itself – hit the link for the gallery, you’ll find zombie dirt bike redemption inside. More »

Wrath of Lich King Gets Its First Level 80

11:00PM Brian Ashcraft | And like that, someone already hit 80. A mere 27 hours after World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King launches, the game apparently already has its first level 80: a warlock named Nymh that plays on a French server. “In real life I’m 21 and currently employed,” says Nymh. “I took a few days of vacation for the release of the expansion.” Dude’s gonna need another vacation after this “vacation.”

10:00PM Brian Ashcraft | The Nintendo copyright crackdown continues! The Kyoto Prefectural High Tech Crime Prevention Unit has arrested three individuals in Osaka Prefecture in connection with selling R4 style piracy devices. The R4 can be inserted in the DS Lite and has a small slot that the Micro SD card goes into. Data is stored on a Micro SD and downloaded via a flash drive. 50 Cent Game Just Looks Better And Better

9:30PM Luke Plunkett | “Wheh Ma Skull!”. Funny the first time you hear it, funny the next 17 times you hear it. Honestly, not only does this game look hilarious (bravo Swordfish for taking the low, tongue-in-cheek road on the concept), but it looks decent. Like Gears of War, with baseball caps. But with less Locust. And more punching in the stomach. More »

The Official Guitar Hero/Rock Band Compatibility Chart

8:30PM Luke Plunkett | If you own both Guitar Hero (III or World Tour) and Rock Band (1 or 2), you’ll be both familiar and ultimately sick of the compatibility issues between the two franchises. They will work, they won’t work, they might work, they should work; trying to get hard, final word on just which instruments will work with which game has been a messy, convoluted and confusing experience. Until now, that is! The official Guitar Hero community crew have put together an extensive chart, outlining which instruments will work with which game. Bravo. Click through for all four charts for all four platforms. More »

And Your Next Xbox Original Is…

7:30PM Luke Plunkett | …Zapper. Do try and remain calm, will you? Blitz’s cricket platformer, first released in 2002, will be ready for download on your 360 on November 17, for the customary price of 1200 MS Points. Really, Microsoft. Zapper? It’s the lead-up to Christmas, and you release Zapper? An average (and that’s being kind) last-gen platformer that wasn’t even an Xbox exclusive? You could have at least given us Blinx. Least that’d be good for a laugh or two. More »

Halo: The Complete Soundtrack

6:30PM Luke Plunkett | Sure, Halo 3 was so 2007, but there’s always ways to pick up an extra penny or two the year after. When the heat’s died down. Here’s one: the complete Halo soundtrack. It’s the soundtracks to Halo 1, Halo 2 and Halo 3, all in the one box, all for $US30. Could be the perfect stocking-stuffer for that special Halo fan in your life. Provided they didn’t buy the soundtrack to Halo 2, hear Incubus and hurl it out the nearest window, that is. More »
