Utah Library Now Even Less Cool as a Hangout

This is a story about a library issuing a partial ban on the playing of video games, but really, it makes sense. Actually, it’s good news, because it means that kids still choose to hang out at libraries. Of course, this is in Utah, so such wholesomeness is unsurprising.

‘Whose IP Is It, Anyway?’: College Controversy

Recently, some controversy has popped up regarding who owns the IP of student-created work; recent events with the award-winning creation of some graduates of DigiPen Institute of Technology have highlighted the problematic nature of what is somewhat par for the course in design programs. On the one hand, while I can see some of the arguments for schools retaining the IP (and certainly, the policies are clear to students from day one), I find some of the arguments downright laughable. The Killers Also Coming to Rock Band

Yesterday brought word that three tracks from The Killers would be available Nov. 25 for Guitar Hero: World Tour. They’re also putting three cuts on Rock Band 2, available on the same day. (Nov. 25 is the day the Las Vegas band’s next album, “Day and Age” is released in stores.)

Second Life Marriage Ends the Way Many Real Ones Do

Amy Taylor and David Pollard (that’s them at left) formally married for about three years — including in a lavish online ceremony in Second Life — are separated and seeking a divorce, because Amy caught David’s avatar banging another avatar and it wasn’t hers.
