Casting my eye over the games the Classificatoin Board cast their eye over last week, I’m reminded that Stormrise is getting pretty close to release. What’s Stormrise? An innovative third-person RTS in development at the Creative Assembly up in Brisbane, that’s what. With Halo Wars also just a few weeks away, it’ll be interesting to see which control scheme fares better at making an RTS work on console.
Also of note, Rhythm Heaven moves a step closer to a local release, although we don’t have a date at this stage, and the curious appearance of an as-yet-unannounced Wii version of hardcore PC strategy series, Anno.
Over the last seven days, these games have survived the scrutiny of our censors:
Anno: Create A New World (Wii) – G
Big Family Games (Wii) – G
Brain Booster (PC) – G
Buzz! Brain of Oz (PS2, PSP) – PG
Dancing Stage: Hottest Party 2 (Wii) – G
Heroes Over Europe (360, PS3, PC) – PG
Junior Brain Train: Logic Games (PC) – G
Junior Brain Train: Memory Games (PC) – G
Magic the Gathering: Duel of the Planeswalkers (XBLA, PC) – G
Marbles! Balance Challenge (Wii) – G
Ninja Brain Workout (PC) – G
Pirates vs Ninjas Dodgeball (Wii) – PG
Rhythm Heaven (DS) – G
Stormrise (360, PS3, PC) – M
Wanted: Weapons of Fate (360, PS3, PC) – MA15+

I am so excited about Rhythm Heaven and am soooo glad they’re going to release it in Australia. I had contemplated importing Rhythm Tengoku Gold from Japan, but decided again it since I don’t understand Japanese. Sigh.

I wonder if the Witcher will be censored for consoles? I know it was censored on PC in America and uncensored here, but I get the feeling as soon as it hits consoles it will suddenly become a “videogame” in the eyes of the ignorant just like how GTA4 was censored on console and uncensored on PC.
