Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack Detailed

1:00AM March 20, 2009 | Brian Crecente

The first map pack for Call of Duty: World at War hits today and includes a new Nazi Zombie Coop level plus tons of new fun features for zombie killing.

The new level, set in an insane asylum, includes Perks-a-Cola soda machines and an electroshock defence systems. The pack also comes with three new multiplayer maps: Nightfire, Knee Deep and Station.

“Nightfire” is all about fighting in a dark urban war-torn Berlin. While you dart in and out of shelled buildings, you’ve got the fires raging throughout the city as your only source of light.

“Knee Deep” is a Japanese-run command centre in the middle of what used to be a quiet Peleliu village. On your way to taking over the command post, you’ll be wading through jungle streams and fighting your way through fortified Japanese bunkers. This map works well for larger team games and objective matches.

Finally, “Station” offers a lot of variety, from close-range choke points to sweet hidden spots just waiting to be a home for that devastating sniper. It’s a bombed-out underground train station, so you’ll find yourself running through destroyed subway cars, hidden passageways, loading platforms and second-story overlooks.

I’m equally frustrated. I was eagerly checking the store on a regular basis for the last 2 days but nothing. Turns out that they’ve delayed the release in Australia/NZ until the 26th. Apparently this was done after the PSN crumbled from teh demand in the US.

Thank you Allan, at least we now know that it is still being released in Australia, still disappointing that they were unable to deliver it on the 20th as promised… Ah well, good things come to those who wait, jus gotta put up with the XBOX 360 users whom already have it…
