EA Sports Exec Says Wii Motion Plus Ends Lazy Wii-mote Gaming

With the regular Wii-mote, you can sit on the sofa and play Wii Sports with the flick of your wrist. Not true with Wii MotionPlus.

Still unreleased, Wii MotionPlus is an add-on for the Wii Remote that helps the Wii locate it better in space. EA Sports exec Peter Moore recounts his experience with Wii MotionPlus: “If you think about the normal movement you get with the Wii remote, you know you can sit on your couch and flick your wrist and you get the same reaction as if you stand up and do a full swing playing golf or tennis. What the Wii MotionPlus allows you to do is do a true authentic sports motion. When you swing the racquet and you bring it back for an overhead lob or smash, then that is reflected.”

If Wii MotionPlus catches on, the Wii’s couch potato playing days are over.

This is good and bad i suppose. Theres a lot of lazy gamers out there but i would prefer having more accurate motion controls and being able to sword fight 1:1 ratio (Zelda anyone?)
