Stormrise: What Does Verticality Mean?

So what do Sega and The Creative Assembly mean when they hype verticality in their upcoming real-time strategy game Stormrise? The latest developer diary explains it all.

Basically, verticality means just what it sounds like. Rather than the flat-surface combat of your more traditional real-time strategy game, Stormrise lets you get up above and/or down in it as you see fit. If they do it right, verticality should force players to come up with creative new strategies, with multiple ways to approach any given situation.

If done wrong, at least it’ll look pretty.
