Why isn’t there? A Pokémon online game sounds like a logical idea. But the Pokémon franchise director Junichi Masuda has an explanation.
“At this point, we’re not thinking of going in that direction,” says Masuda. “Trading is a core concept of Pokémon. So when you’re trading, you meet with a friend and decide which one you want and which one they want. I would like to emphasise real-world communication. You don’t see each other online.”
You gotta admire them for sticking to their guns — or Poké Ball or Pokédex or whatever.
No Pokémon MMO or online game coming, say creators [What They Play via VG247]

If their was some way to interface your copy of Diamond/Pearl/Platinum with an MMO on the Wii or PC then I’d be ALL for that!
