I wonder how old you were when you played this, because it looks pretty much just like I remember it and not nearly as bad as my ex-girlfriend with the lazy eye. I just may download this one if it ends up selling for 800 points or less (because 800 points is all I have left and I don't feel like buying a new card and I learned my lesson a long time ago about giving Microsoft my credit card information).

The best part is seeing the MGS logo at the end.

I liked the first one better. Tooie felt too much like DK64 - wander around the world, complete random mini-games, collect items. The first one had areas that felt more like levels with hazards to overcome.

@jamesjohnson01: both games are $15 which translates to 1200 microsoft points. If youre wondering what you would do with the 10 extra dollars, rare can steal your money even more. some dlc for the third b&k is avialable for $5 or 400 points

@Polysics_2004: Also, it should be noted they locked the framerate DOWN. That was the biggest problem with games (especially RARE games) on the N64, and it's what makes the biggest difference when playing BK on the 360.

The only Banjo game i played was kazooie(sp?) even that i got stuck on for some reason..........

I only had Banjo Kazooie for N64, and this one looks waaay better! I'm liking the flamethrower and FPS/chicken thing. :D

Still looks good to me. Although I do have to say that after seeing the new art style in Nuts & Bolts, it does look a little worse for wear.
I didn't actually get to play Tooie either so this should be a good chance to catch up. Especially since I've been nostalgically reliving the original on and off since it came out on XBLA.

I recognized some of the early levels, but I hadn't ever got to some of the other sequences shown. This could be a spoiler for people who have never played/finished the game! I would play it on my N64, but I don't have the desire to drag out my console, find a place to plug it in, and I don't want to get frustrated playing this!

Banjo Tooie......while still good wasn't as well designed as Kazooie. The levels were bigger, granted, but that led to a lot a really confusing level design. The worst offender is Gruntys Factory: I literally ran around in a circle for 5 mins because all the areas in the circle looked the same

Amazing game. I might actually buy both of them on the arcade even though i still have the N64 Cartridges somewhere. So i dont have to crippple my hands on the N64 controller.

Makes me remember why i never cared about Banjo Kazooie.

Ah seriously can't wait for this game, even if gameplay has aged badly (Which i'm pretty sure it hasn't played the hell out of the original recently) there is ALWAYS the musical score, best damn thing about the game.

You mean the N64 one, the edits came in the xbox version. Your message is somewhat baffling, calling the xbox version the original one. It was actually made more family friendly on the xbox too.

Rare over-reached in Tooie, creating more button-mashing and aimless scavengering than any reasonable gamer would have the patience for, but it's still a great game, particularly the first half. Still, frame-rate and resolution were by far the least of its offenses. If anything, increasing the resolution without adequately improving the models and textures makes it look even worse, thus "lazy eye syndrome".

The music is freaking phenomenal in this game, did I mention that? Though if the babble-dialogue annoys you, be prepared to sit through a ton of it.

Well I recently played Nuts and Bolts and I think its really awesome. Its a very fun game. I think I will like this more because it is platform orientated. Hopefully it doesn't cost too much.

How I wish nuts n bolts was ANYTHING like the first 2.

This was about the time where Rare was getting idea crazy and shoved much too much gameplay variation and minigame types that really didn't gel with the overall game. Banjo Kazooie was much tamer, and much more fun. Tooie exhausted me just by exploring one world.

I'm almost tempted to buy a 360 just for the BK series. I loved it on N64, and I really wouldn't mind playing a tuned-up version of it.

I really hope they fixed the framerate on Banjo-Tooie when 4J Studios ported it for XBLA. Banjo-Kazooie on XBLA had some awful slowdowns that make the game really hard to look at on my HDTV sometimes.

As for what 4J Studios did, the resolution is increased quite a bit. If you tried hooking up an N64 to an HDTV, you'd want to gouge your eyes out because it looks so bad!!

Ah, I only have a PS3 and a Wii here. No reason to hook the old 64 up yet. I completed the Banjo games year ago.I'm glad these games are available yet again. Fuck fanboyism. It is all about good games. And how many people play them. Platform is irrelevant. At least, controllers do mtter. But good games are good games, graphics are worthless.

The Xbox 360 just scored major points for me for having 16:9 versions of both BK and BT. Where Mario 64 helped invent the 3d platformer, Banjo-Kazooie perfected it, and Banjo-Tooie perfected it further. The only problem I had with BT was occasional slow down, since the game clearly pushed the N64 to its absolute limits, but I'm sure that's gone on the Xbox 360.

It's a masterpiece. If you like platformers at all and own an Xbox 360, do yourself a favor and pick it up. It's seriously a contender for the best 3d platformer of all time.

If that's the case, I will more than gladly pick this one up. When the N64 version got down to something like 3 FPS in that Hot-Cold world, I just couldn't convince myself to keep playing it back then.

It had the best art and level design for the whole N64 generation I'd say.

The first one is TOTALLY worth playing if you like platformers and have never played it. The platforming wasn't the best but it was fun and the level design was top notch, some of the most memorable levels I've ever seen. They all had some sort of landmark which was both impressive and made navigation about the level a breeze. And the music was the awesomest, the way it all mixed seamlessly together was great.

The second one had big, confusing levels made up of numerous areas that all looked alike and which eventually just bored you to tears. I tried to like the second one, I really did. But after the hundredth time I played that stupid macguffin hunt in the temple where every freaking room was identical and you never knew where you had been or where you needed to go next I put it down. Seriously, don't waste your time with Tooie.

So getting this, I've whipped out my 64 but yeah RARE games seem to have a problem with Frames so this should be better on the 360. Also going to get Perfect Dark upon release.

I believe the character design is happy, simple, yet slightly and strangely twisted at times. Subtle british stuff. Guess you can't get it if it's not a dude with a gun. Somehow it makes me happy.

ABOUT THE PLATFORMING.
There were more moves, puzzles, and routes to explore than Mario64 had.

If you want generic platforming go try GEX. Fuck, maybe you already have, Gex looks cooler right. Somehow, I get this strange feeling you never gave Banjo-Kazooie half a chance.

Microsoft would not refund me when they renewed my Live Gold account for $7.99 a month on a monthly basis for 7 months after my account expired. And they did it on a credit card I used to buy a Live Arcade game a year or two earlier. The account they renewed was bought with a 12-month gold card.

I did not have a 360 during those 7 months as the one I had red-ringed on me and MS would NOT refund that money (even though they knew I had a broken console and hadn't logged on ONCE in the 7 months they were charging me).

Never in a million years would I suspect that they'd take all the credit card info. I gave them to buy a game for like 5 bucks a year earlier and use it to renew an account I had bought with a 12 month card. Lesson learned now, but if they're currently doing this with you, apparently Microsoft hasn't learned their lesson or what is or isn't legal.

I really loved the first game, but any title from that era seems to feel uncomfortable to me. I still can't figure out how people were able to play many of the 3D PSone titles...

@sentroshi: This one is waaay worst. The hub world was crap. And it was just confusing going from place to place. This game is in no way shape or form better than the original BK. Not by a LONG shot.

I love how in Banjo Tooie there would be FPS sections and Rare used various Goldeneye maps but with textures from BT on it.
I'm so getting this.

@terrydwj: The hub world in BK was terrible. I went back to try and play it again on my 64 and found it frustrating to figure out where the worlds were and how to get back to the top of the place.
The hub world only makes sense when you're playing through the game.

I hate these games, but this girl I'm friends with loves them. That being said, these graphics look cleaner than when I watched her play recently.

Doesn't this hold true for pretty much all platformers. It would be hard to jump back into a platformer such as BK, Jaks, or Ratchet after a few years and pick up where you left off with out some confusion.

The issue with Tooie's hub world was that it didn't make sense even while playing through the game.
