GPS For Your DS Lite

If you’re ever packing your DS Lite and end up lost in the jungle/emerging from a crashed plane in the Andes, you’ll be thankful if you bothered to purchase the “Ranger”.


This unofficial Chinese… dongle, I guess we’ll call it, brings a full suite of global positioning capabilities to the handheld, featuring Google Maps support in both 2D and 3D.

While this fancy new tech seems best-suited for the fancy new DSi, ironically it will only work on the older models of the DS, as it requires the use of the GBA cartridge slot.

    It would be pretty awesome if someone makes a program to link the DS connect through the net through mobile phones.

    I wonder how the GPS device work. Does it just pick up local cellphone network and uses it? And also, how much battery it will use. (Just look at the size of that thing!)

    Lastly, now they’ll have to make a treasure hunting game that utilizes the GPS’s capability.
