Mafia Wars Hits iPhone

Mafia Wars, already popular on Facebook and MySpace, just hit the iPhone.


The iPhone version of the virtual organised crime game comes with new weapons and jobs. In the game you commit crimes to build up your organisation and cash, which gives you access to new weapons and such. The mobile version includes a slick new interface, better graphics, animations and sounds and the ability to track each other through a ranking ladder and real-time newsfeed.

The best part, it’s free, though there’s some talk of premium versions coming out as well with prices for those ranging from US$10 to $40. Yes, that’s in real money. That’s crazy.

I haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, but my player ID is 1203 1976 26 and the name is Kotaku. We should form a gang or something.
