Sega’s Wacky World Of Sports Brings Extreme Ironing To Wii
Wii owners are about to enter a sports mini-game famine, following the release of Sega’s Wacky World of Sports, a waggle-ridden compilation that finally cleans the bones of the multiplayer sports party game carcass.
We’ll give Sega credit for adding “extreme ironing” to Wacky World of Sports, something I never thought I’d see on the Wii. Granted, I’d not thought of the extreme ironing gag for at least two years now, so I’ll hopefully be forgiven for my lack of foresight.
Wacky World of Sports also features non-conventional sports like tuna tossing, timber sports and cheese wheel rolling, among other fanciful and fictional activities. Consider the bottom of the mini-game barrel sparkling clean.
Sega expects to release the game later this year for the Wii.

Is this an example of the homosexuality in video games arguments that have been a hot button issue lately?

@Kobun: Super Monkey Ball Wii was a mini-game collection, more or less.

@99-Luft-Balloons: There were glory days? Man, I must have missed them...
Flamboyantly gay sports!
I will pass.
Thanks anyway Sega.

I gotta say that looks really generic for Sega. The stereotypes lack the insulting charm of Sega Soccer Slam, and the wacky quotient seems to stuck in first gear. Perhaps the company is taking the Scorsese approach of doing crap such as this to bankroll its other Wii efforts which fail to bring in as much cash as I'm sure shareholders would prefer a big Wii title to make.
this is...just embarrassing
I was squirming through the entire trailer at how impossibly yet somehow achievably lame this looks.
SEGA continues to infuriate me and blow my mind.
this game looks dumb as hell.
@blue bed: powerstone is capcom. but yeah sega, put out stuff like this and a new mario and sonic olympic games instead of games that would be cool on wii like jet set radio, panzer dragoon, virtua cop, after burner, or space harrier.
just when i thought sega was doin some things right.
@goldwings: Well, there's always Bonsai Barber. No peripherals, though, since it's WiiWare.
@Boom-Chicka-Ah: Feel the Magic and its sequel were the last mini-game games Sega put out some years ago. Considering Sega has been the developer of late pushing the Wii and providing "hardcore" (shudder) experiences to the "casual" (shudder) market, I think the company is allowed a Wii mini-game collection. A shame that it'll probably sell more than Madworld though.
Yes, definitely better than some power stone 3 nonsense. Ugh.
I'm still waiting for Ultra Extreme Wii Gardening X with a Shovel and hoe peripheral myself.
Great Sega, you don't have to overdo it. Just get us a classic HD sega game, and I'll be happy.

Finally, I'm buying a Wii.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................not
Oh boy, uh, more minigames from Sega, whew, that's uh...
That's... yeh.
That's, that's okay, I guess.
@Boom-Chicka-Ah: Yay Raving Rabbids 3!

Bring on the cheese rolling!
i knew it! the omen is becoming true. the wii cleaning game is coming closer and closer to its designated console.
can sega fucking stop with the montage of mini games now please!?!?!?!
Were they tossing darts at the wall of ideas again?
Silly Sega
Seems like the only wii game I remotely want in the near future is The Conduit. I love you wii, but you got to get out of this kiddie game crap! Go back to your glory days!
99-Luft-Balloons
Actually, this looks more appealing than most mini game collections. I love the bosses at the end (come out, how often do you see that in this type of game?).
Wacky wacky! *horn honk*
Hoo hoo hee hee!
...SIGH...

@Gambit09:
Serious, buy it or don't buy it. It's your choice.
But points on making me scroll to see the end...made me smile.
*claps*
@shimage: That reminds me, I still need to download that game. I read an interview with the creator on gamasutra and it seems pretty innovative

@99-Luft-Balloons: I hope that means you've already bought Little King's Story.

Better have > 100 minigames. With mini-games the interest is quantity.
