There´s no excuse why those graphics are that bad, specially when MArio Galaxy showed that the Wii can render great graphics.

@beril: One point is that unlike Killer7, which was published and funded by Capcom, No More Heroes was most likely done on a notably smaller budget, so I'm certain that part of the visuals being what they were was a direct result of that budget shift.

I loved the first one, in a bad B-rated movie sort of way.

One of the few games that genuinely made me laugh. Hope they get rid of or expand on the whole getting money part in the "open world". That was the lamest part of the game, but it made the actual boss battles that much more awesome.

Loved the first game, hope this one has sorted out most of the blemishes (namely the god awful bike segments).

Then I may even forgive them for making me collect virtual coconuts for virtual money again.

Man I wish my disability made some of these Wii games more accessible but I tend to have trouble with the nunchuck set up. Loved RE:UC but sometimes it wouldn't pick up my slight delay. Ah well still looks like a fun game.

No More Heroes was by far my favourite Wii, despite its flaws (what can I say, I'm one of those weird people who buy Nintendo consoles and don't play Mario or Zelda). NMH was a deliriously fun and original ride from start to finish, in a tongue-skewering-cheek kind of way that didn't appeal to everyone, but that I personally loved.
Please, Ninty, release the damn black Wii already... I don't care if it's a limited edition, if it costs 50 euros more, I just want my black Wii before NMH2 comes out...

I still don't get what was so awesome about the first one. It had some interesting mechanics for the first 20 minutes, then every fight was the same thing.

The thing that sets a game apart from something like a movie or a book or art for that matter is that it doesn't need those things, just the so briskly covered "gameplay".
A story is irrelevant to gameplay. Gameplay is relevant to a game (thus final fantasy VII would still be the same game without the story) since that's what makes it a game in the first place. Graphics are not needed either. Visuals would be a better description since there are text games that rip current gen games a new one. What about mind games? Mathematical puzzles and such? they're still games.

And a generation is not defined by the technology, but using your logic, f the Wii is last gen, than by default, so is the PS3 and 360.

No More Heroes belongs on the Wii. It's the motion controls that really makes the combat a lot of fun. Besides, Grasshopper Manufacture is more concerned with art style than it is about pushing graphics.

So yeah, the fact that characters will be involved in the plot that aren't just Travis or Sylvia seems like a big change.

And since now seems as good a time as any: I was kinda disappointed with No More Heroes' story, since it's mostly nonexistent, and then all of that disappointment washed away when I got to the final 10% of the game, because it was one of the funniest endings I've ever seen. Suda51 has a good sense of humour.

I'm pretty sure that if this were on other consoles, it wouldn't be hi-res, it wouldn't look any better, and it would probably be seen as derivative of other action games like, say, Devil May Cry. Graphics are clearly NOT the driving force that makes No More Heroes a great game.

Considering that initially it was said that a sequel would be determined based on sales of the first game, apparently money was made for Desperate Struggle to become a reality.

For comparison, when Killer 7 came out, both the GCN and PS2 combined had a higher userbase than the Wii alone, much higher, and No More Heroes outsold them both collectively on the Wii alone.

I find it absolutely hilarious that people are like "it's on the wrong console" when Wii does get a game such as this, but then the same people are like "Wii has no good games" when games like this aren't in sight. This generation is full of all kinds of dumbassery if you ask me.

@MaxDragon7: It seems like the story may actually matter in this one, and actually develop in one way or another. Unlike the first one, where 90% of the plot events were independent of each other, except for like the last 10% of the game.

For example, in the trailer, it looks that guy that gets 10 guns put to his head is Travis' friend at the video store, an NPC who had NO bearing on the plot in the first one and was pretty much just "that guy who you go to if you want videos."

I'm impressed. The graphics in particular are very nice, much crisper and better detailed than the original's. Plus, while I knew about the dual Beam Sabers already, seeing them actually in action has me rarin' to go.

The first game was awesome and I loved it, but it wasn't perfect. Appears as if this game will improve on a lot of the first's weak points; better graphics, more variety in enemies/locations, and more emphasis on story/characters. Also, it looks even more hilarious than the first! Can't wait for this game.

No More Heroes was the game that stopped me from throwing away my wii. Its sheer awesomeness gave me enough patience to wait for some temporary cures like Punch-Out!!

I really do hope this game does well! The wii needs people like Suda to make awesome games! I am buying this game on the first day, regarless of the cost. Hopefully people do the right thing and buy it, so we can see more games like this.

Also, I wish this franchise would stay on the wii. Ps3 and 360 have so many awesome games, it's hard to count: Halo, Gears of War, Heavenly Sword, inFamous, and too many to count.

Stop being so selfish and allow us ONE effin good game for ourselves. You have a huge gallery of awesome games. Go buy inFamous. Do you have any idea how much wii users would give to have something so awesome? But not everyone can afford an effin ps3, so we settle for the wii. No More Heroes is a huge thing for the wii, on the ps3 or xbox, it would just be one more good game between the hundreds.

I used to be all into the best graphics too. then I remembered, "holy crap I still love playing Pacman!" so I learned to be more forgiving when it comes to low quality graphics as long as the gameplay of the game is solid and fun. (as it is with No More Heroes)

I love how just because the game was critically underrated people think it makes them seem knowledgeable about video games to go around spouting nonsense about how amazing it was. It was a fun game, yeah. But it was repetitive, it had boring environments, and the story was just nowhere near the quality of NMH. Both of them where trying to be similar games, NMH just did it better.

Godhand was enjoyable, but if you're saying it's better than NMH then you haven't beat NMH. Stop going to forums to get your opinions and form them yourself.

@DeathsVice: Let me explain. I'm no 360 fanboy as I have and support all 3 current consoles. That said, the motion controls specific to the Wii did little to enhance this game, and I think it would have benefited from HD graphics and more interactive environments. Nothing more.

Also, I hope they get rid of the boring gta part of santa destroy and introduce some locations where you can actually walk around and talk to people for quests instead of all the coconut button mashing.

As soon as I see that Rosewood font in anything, it is instantly amateur in my books.

Well I liked the first one, but it doesn't seem like they've changed nothing in the sequel. Which isn't really a good thing. I would have liked some tweeks. At the end the game started to get boring.

It is worth it for the music, the boss fights, and the characters though. The rest of the game takes backseat. Considering you can get NMH1 for 15 bucks nowadays I'd say it's more than worth it.

The game has the best fighting system out of any action game I have played, ever, and it's funny.

No More Heroes has a extremely fun battle system, but God Hand wins in this department.

God Hand has very interesting bosses, and boss fights, and the rest of the characters are fun to. No More Heroes has EXTREMELY interesting bosses, and the boss fights are some of the funnest I have had in all of video game History. So yeah, No More Heroes is better in the boss fights/characters respect.

Graphics were both lacking in some departments for both games, wont bother to compare that.

The Story in God Hand was simplistic, very simplistic, which makes sense, if you understand that they were trying to capture the essence of beat um ups of the old days. It is not ground breaking, but enjoyable, and nostalgic.

No More Heroes story wins, period :P

They are both great games, personally I would go for No More Heroes myself, but why do you all have to be in two sides of extreme spectrum showing you probably have only played one or the other. They are both great games, and should both be purchased and played.

Oh, and my reply a while ago was half-sarcastic. Yes there are some slowdowns, but they often happen while exploring Santa Destroy, or when to many enemies are dying in fountains of blood (replay the first few levels if you don't believe me).

I have bouth games, i have beaten, more time than i can count them and they are bouth great games!!!! Really, its a shame GodHand its not receiving any more love from Capcom.

Now, yeah, they are kinda similar games, they are beatemup with its own things. But i'd have to say i Liked GodHand more for its combo system, but I like NMH history much more than godhand. The story on GodHand was just an excuse to the but it did, but in NMH, it was more compelling and penetrating one.

If i had to chose a game, i'd go for NMH, but God Hand its pretty amazing to. And to those who think NMH is better than God Hand, really, play first God Hand if ya hand't and then remake yer statement.

PS: Its more correct to compare MadWorld to GodHand than NMH. Given Madworld its the spiritual succesor of God Hand that is
