This week’s Australian sales chart is deeply, deeply boring.
I’m fast running out of Wii lifestyle photography to illustrate the fact that Wi Fit and Wii Play have topped the charts for what seems like decades now.
Next week, expect things to be totally different when, er… Pokemon Platinum gets released.
All Format Full-Priced Games Top 10 for the w/e May 10:
1. Wii Fit (Wii)
2. Wii Play (Wii)
3. Brain Training (DS)
4. More Brain Training (DS)
5. Mario Kart (Wii)
6. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (PS3)
7. Crosswords (DS)
8. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (360)
9. Singstar Queen (PS2)
10. Sight Training (DS)

Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 10:11 AMHey David
Instead of reading the same shit every week in regards to these depressing sales charts (I mean seriously, Wii Play and Wii Fit? WTF?) is there any chance you might print a sales chart from 10 or so years ago, just so we can see what a sales chart with real games looks like?
So you can still print the current weeks chart, but then also a – Week ending May 10, 1998 chart as well, for example
Make sense?

Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 11:39 AMAs well as this chart, it would be good to have a top 10 that leaves out all things Nintendo. That might actually be useful.

Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 12:36 PMWhat gets me is the number of dumb, fat people I run into everywhere, every day. Is there a big irony here or are these people trying to better themselves en masse?
(I was going to add “bad driving” to the “dumb and fat” description to cover Mario Kart but that actually explains a lot of the horrible driving I see daily).

Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 1:26 PMNintendo should get their own Top 10.
Then you could have an alternate Top 10 Non-Nintendo games. It’s a little more work, but… at least it’ll keep things FRESH.

Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 2:00 PMDo they ever release stats for 11-20 or anything? Maybe you can start making the ‘Kotaku AU charts’ which only include actual *games* and not crappy DS training things or hardware bundles like Wii Fit and Wii Play.
Because honestly, every month is going to be Wii Fit, Wii Play, Brain Training. It’s monotonous.

Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 2:42 PMActually those “10 years ago” charts are always interesting when done for music. A games one would be pretty cool. Gets the nostalgia going and makes you realise how fast those last 10 years have gone by.

Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 7:17 PMI’m sorry, I bought word coach, scrabble and more brain training for the DS, I just wanted to improve my vocabulary and mental faculties can you really blame me?

Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 7:58 PMI think the important thing to remember here is that it was Mother’s Day, so Wii fit would have gone crazy!!! As for sales performance for 1998, prolly still would have been Nintendo games
