Oh wow, I might play this just to see how badly a Japanese company represents the reality of my hometown of Miami, lol.

Do they really expect to sell the game with a horrible demo like that? Not that the demo will have much effect, but there's no way MORE people will buy the game because of that demo.

@Jump4816: I never DID use it but ever since the Knights in the Nightmare demo caught me by surprise the one time I looked at it, I make a point to check the DS demos now.

@Cochese: now with more games.: You use the Wii as a wi-fi access point to send the demo to your DS.

@Jump4816:A fair amount of people use it. It costs you $0 and allows you to download new DS demos every week without having to go to a GameStop or some other place.

It may not seem like much but the Nintendo Channel is a very, very, very useful channel. Don't knock it.

How prominent and accurate is Miami in the game? I'm a sucker for stuff set in this town.

@excel_excel: Depends on who you talk to. Purists would always whine that Working Designs used too many jokes and puns that dated the material, but the voice actors they used and the overall writing quality were extremely high for the time when the PSX version of Lunar came out.

So the answer is yes.

@torched: For that matter, what's the game doing in English? It should be in Spanish, with Creole subtitles.

@SaanZ: Part of that charm for me is that then you're browsing the videos you hear different musical notes when you hover over them. So I always find myself playing little melodies to go with the background music. :P

Well, I've seen screenshots of this game showing a reasonably accurate map of the Miami-Dade County Area--it'll be interesting to see how close they come to the REAL Miami. ;)

Do I get to make a corny one-liner before the opening credits, which are set to "Won't Get Fooled Again"?

This demo did not impress. I was expecting some sort of Phoenix Wright/Hotel Dusk mixed with some gunplay mechanics, but all I get so far are two poor excuses for minigames and no deep investigation tools at all. In that top screenshot, all you do is count how many people you see in the surveillance cameras, then hit enter. That's it. Perhaps they're holding out on the demo, but I am not holding my breath on this one.

@Jump4816: I use it a lot. Whenever a WiiWare game comes out and I don't know what it is, they always have some video of it. And they get cool interviews with people and some neat DS game demos pretty much all the time. I don't know why you wouldn't use it.

It should be noted that Gaijinworks, Victor Ireland's new company, is doing the translation for this.

Oi! Does anyone even use this channel? Seriously, maybe if they put some free downloadable games on it. Or maybe they could do the pokemon mystery gift events on it, or even give us a taste of games that aren't even close to being out yet. Maybe then it'll be something to check out.
