Lips Gets New Edition In May

Microsoft’s karaoke game Lips adds a ton of new music this month, but none quite as impressive as the New Edition Song Pack.

No, there’s nothing wrong with your line. The New Edition Song Pack for Lips is coming on the 15th of May, adding three of 80’s group’s biggest hits to the Xbox 360. “Cool it Now”, “Mr. Telephone Man”, and “If It Isn’t Love” are three songs that are in the blood of any child of the 80’s. Listening to them you can almost forget that Bobby Brown is a jerk and Bell Biv Devoe was a really stupid name for a musical group.

Other artists contributing to this month’s Lips DLC include Good Charlotte, The Black Crowes, John Denver, Snow Patrol, and Billy Ray Montana, whose “Achy Breaky Heart” never fails to make drunken people laugh uncontrollably. Check out the full list of May DLC below!

    I thought Take Me Home, Country Roads was already in the game.

  • Hells Zargon

    The real Mario Bros.

    @bjorked:

    if by "rofl" you mean "AWESOME!" then i agree.

  • Emiat

    I would buy this game just for Achy Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cyrus, then again I would by most games for the amount of cheese in that song.

  • ThePurpleWall

    Three cheers for John Denver!

  • Azza

    I like Singstar but I haven't played it for yeeaaarrrssss.

  • Orionz Dream

    Ok so now im buying this game. I love NE. And BBD is stil great live. Heads of State (Brown, Gill, Ralph) is ok live but BBD is great.

  • Ambiguous Blob 2.0

    What no DJ Bobo? And to think they call this a "karaoke game"... Singstar has like 6 of his tracks online too.

    /end sarcasm...

    @bjorked:

    New Edition was the epitome of a great boy band. Right up there with the Jackson 5 and New Kids on the Block.

    Oh my God. If the New Radicals have finally made it a music game, then there's hope that they'll make it into Rock Band. This is definitely one of the greatest songs of all time.

    I am so torn between Singstar and Lips. Singstar seems like the better game/engine, but then Microsoft goes and releases songs like the New Edition pack, while the Singstar DLC is generally pretty bad.

    Cool it nooooooow,
    oooh watch out...
    you're gonna' lose control!

    Cool it noooooow,
    slow it down!
    You're gonna' fall in love baby...

    rofl@ New Edition!

    Bobby Brown, in my LIPS?! Awwww shit.

  • Fallible.

    @Kazaam_McFresh: Nah, the pixels are all off. I'm calling a 'shop on this one.

  • Kazaam_McFresh

    I'm no handyman myself, but I can clearly tell you that those are actual construction workers.

    Mika and karaoke.

    Two of the most aggravating things in the world, now in union. Surely, a sad day for us all.

  • ThePurpleWall

    @ThePurpleWall: Hip hip...

  • akilshohen

    I will be getting the New Radicals and the NE pack

  • akilshohen

    @SilverFireshot: it might be added for the Euro versions. I was thinking the same thing too.

  • akilshohen

    @Floyd Bailey: he already was as of December. Every little step.

  • ShiftBreaker

    Hard To Handle? As a Master or a cover? Does Lips even do covers?

    Anyway, I don't care for singing games because...well, I can't sing. But there are so many songs that I wish were in Rock Band/Guitar Hero World Tour.

    Aaaaand Turning Japanese is one of them.

  • DARTH_TIGRIS

    Never really seriously considered this game. Now I don't know if I could live without it. Great . . .

  • WFROSE

    @WFROSE: Although, I do admit that this kinda takes a hit for missing "Candy Girl", "Can you Stand the Rain", and "I'm Still in love with You"...

  • WFROSE

    Okay, I'm buying Lips just for this.

    I'm serious!

    Really, I'm not joking!

  • Dingler

    @Hells Zargon: My thought exactly

  • TikkiEXX

    im glad that so many of you arent ashamed to be NE fans. they were really good back in the day. they could actually sing. lol. they were still pretty successful after they broke up. even Bobby Brown. til he met that crackpipe. lol

    TikkiEXX

  • lionkitten

    @SilverFireshot: John Denver is in there already, at least in U.S. version.

  • lionkitten

    I will buy an embarrassingly high percentage of these. New Edition, New Radicals, Coldplay, Blink-182 (the ONE song i would buy, too!), Snow Patrol and Mika.

    Buy buy buy. Drink drink drink. Sing sing sing. In that order.

    I <3 Lips. I really do.

  • LetItRane

    New Edition spawned off so many good artists with good songs. Maybe since they did New Edition they'll do BBD also and I can sing Poison....NEVER TRUST A BIG BUTT AND A SMILE....That would almost make it a surefire purchase for me. It's tempting, but Karaoke Revolution with actual tracks and not knock-offs from Wave Group (no offense) sounds awesome as well.

    The Lips Power Pack that went up recently is really good too; finally leaderboards! And it seems to run better now too, instead of the chugging slow machine it became very quickly...
