Making A Mii On Your DS
Personal Trainer: Walking is a DS title that comes packed with two digital pedometers that sync with your DS to track how far you walk each day. It also happens to include the ability to create Mii on your DS.
Not only does the function seem to support everything found on the Wii, but it also lets you choose between six outfits. Here’s a quick look at that function, one that really should be coming to the DSi on its own.

@virion: Are people still nerd raging about wii fit?
NEWS FLASH: The game isn't made for you and you aren't forced to play it.

@Jean-François L'Her: Isn't that what Club Nintendo is for?

I do wish they had a real achievements system on Nintendo consoles, though, although without REAL online multiplayer, what's the point?
@SS Ymer: no, that would be a pedobearmeter.

@Emulated wants a star: Those changes make all the difference. Turning what would be a mundane comment into comedic gold.
@Jesafa: Aaaahahahahoho...This is the coolest comment ever if I could somehow pry myself away from my Wii and my collection of new games, Excitebots, MadWorld, Overkill...
You are a sadistic parent.
@DrunkAus: perhaps it was disemvoweled because the OP was sullying the name or pedometers. Some people are very passionate about their pedometers! Personally I'm more passionate about my gaydar :-P

@Ryguy226: Go check out the Heather Mills post, its got about 20 pointless DV's. I think that maybe there is a newbie DV'er on the loose.
I can't wait to play Personal Trainer: Walking on the Nintendo DS. This is going to be the best 'game' since wii fit. god i hate nintendo.
virion
@Brian Crecente: I understand where mitch was coming from, instead of implementing the Mii editor on the game itself, have a stand alone app on the DS with Mii support similar to the Wii. Seems like the DS is going for the whole portable Wii thing now with it's new setup
@Ghetto-Cornetto: Were you implying the awesome Crecente? I kid :P
Yay, disemvoweling! I haven't seen one of these in a while, always a nice little puzzle to solve, with the comments always providing the hints.
@FunkmasterC: Well I can see the rational, the Mii is a particular thing that Nintendo feels is special and is synanomous with their name. I'm happy that they don't give out the permission to every game, else the shovelware would kill the Mii. On the otherhand, Nintendo has a bit of a quality nazism to how they judge what deserves the incorporation of a Mii.
@ProfWho: Hmm, let me check.
@ProfWho: that slight difference is important though... going from "would be" to "is" gives off this aura of his excitement at how awesome this is. All the better to smash your dreams with a snappy statement referring to the machine he could easily sell for $200 but instead keeps so he comment how he doesn't want to turn it on. Also, note the subtle differences between the 'WII' in the first comment and 'Wii' in its enhanced remake. In the first one, the reader could easily think that Jesafa was referring to World War II and just forgot a capital 'W.'
@BigWyrm: To all of you, Nintendo does not allow devs to 'freely' use Miis. Unlike Xbox avatars, Nintendo screens and restricts Mii use quite heavily.
@DrunkAus: Disemvoweled? Seriously?
Wow, you must have offended Kotaku's resident hard-walking homosexual pedophile... review your hiring policies please gentlemen.
@Snappywave: subtitle option + more access = profit: That would be awesome. I´d become level 99 in no time.
Daniel Pizarro Sánchez
@Chrinkster: Don´t forget CAR faces.

@BigWyrm: Check out TV Show King by Gameloft.
@mitch_93: No no I meant okay fine you put it on a game but make an app for this as well! Sorry bout that my headache doesn't help my typing.
mitch_93
Sweet, i love sarcasm.
@ProfWho: I think the Devs have just no fantasy or ideas what to do with the Miis.
Its the same like with the Motion Sensor of the Sixaxis Controller.
KotakuFreund
Will some one create a digital pedometer game? A RPG that levels up the more you walk.
Snappywave: subtitle option + more access = profit
@Thanatos: That is what I am wondering. Some variety in outfits would be nice.
@Brian Crecente: Yeah, it looks like mitch_93 has a problem with reading comprehension or just reading in general.
@Jesafa: Good thing posted your trolling comment twice. I might have missed the originality of your wit if you hadn't.
@KotakuFreund: Actually, there are quite a few non Nintendo games that use Miis, but really what do facts matter.
@Brian Crecente: ah right missed the sentance "But Miis hadn't made it to the DS. They can now that they have a home, as Nintendo informs us that Personal Trainer: Walking is the first DS game/walking-trainer) to support Miis." when i read it late last night. So when you transfer them to the Wii does the Mii get to use on of the new outfits?
@[kotaku.com]
Can you import the Mii to the Wii and vice versa?
This is a major upgrade from the "sit and glare" minigame in Wii Fit. Now you sit and glare at the DS, which notifies you that you have been WALKING. Way to bring out hedonist self-praise to the lazy ass. They don't even need to pretend doing sport. They sit and glare, and make do with nothing. Not a game about not a thing. I sincerely don't see the point. Well, sitting around and glaring can come much cheaper anyway. I'm waiting for an achievements/rewards system on the Nintendo consoles that lets you know how much of that shit you've bought. *Nintendo Stars*
Jean-François L'Her
@mitch_93: It is on a game
@DrunkAus: www.hiyoooo.com
Thermatico
Oh great. Screw putting it on just a game Nintendo. You just know you want us to spen 500 Ninty-points on a juicy Mii editor for the DSi. Do it!
mitch_93
Am I the only one who still thinks that a pedometer is something used to locate a fuzzy certain somebody upon hearing the word?
'pdmtr' y sy..... s t nythng lk gydr?
@Jesafa: Good thing this is on a DS then..
Now we can get portable genetalia faces.
Chrinkster
@BigWyrm: Everyone can use freely the Mii System for there own Games.
Actually are the Miis just a bunch of meta data, you could let it display other types of graphics, perfectly for the MP Part of Ego Shooters like Call of Duty.
KotakuFreund
This is the coolest thing ever! If I were ever inclined to turn on my Wii again.
Jesafa
This would be the coolest thing ever! If I was ever inclined to turn my WII on again.
Jesafa
Sweet, another player made avatar that they can only use with Nintendo developed games...
@Jesafa: World war 2 is over man, why would you want to turn it on again?
Can Nintendo seriously not update the Mii closet? We've had the same things since the Wii launched.
@Daniel Pizarro Sánchez: i know right ? Just pop that motherfker in the washing machine (properly stored on a ziploc bag before) and you are done !
@BigWyrm:
You know that Guitar Hero World Tour allowed for Mii use on the Wii, right? Last I checked that was developed by Vicarious Visions, a subsidiary of ACTIVISION.
Hmm...
it looks more like a moustache than cheeks lol
Wow amazing! What's next? Avatars that talk?
@Snappywave: subtitle option + more access = profit: That would be far more motivating than just a stat tracking game.
At first I thought you were imlpying something like Pokémon's day care system, where the in game steps give XP to the Pokémon. XD
Herabek
@Ryguy226: Well I'd assume they'd like to keep a bit of innocence to the Miis as well.
I mean playing a first person shooter where enemies were switched with Miis would be pretty bad. Yeah most children wouldn't know about this but it's the same thing as seeing a beloved cartoon character cursing.
Parents would be really POed.
@Jesafa: Yeah... I'm kind of just waiting for "Muramasa" to come out before turning that console on again.
Its nice to see more ds/wii interaction. This has been out in Japan for a while now and it looks interesting. I don't know if it will sell 18 million like wii fit, but I bet it outsells Halo 3.
jameslefeber
@JayUnreal: Yes, yes, Nintendo ruined the entire gaming market by rejuvenating the interest in it, we know. All that's left for them to do is release the "SKYNET" Wii peripheral and their scheme will be complete.
@Luffay: Where exactly have Nintendo said that Wii Fit is the best Wii game? Nintendo are doing and will continue to do what Nintendo has always done, which is market the heck out of their games.
@JayUnreal: Games like this have been around for ages
@FunkmasterC: Actually MS does too, and they're even more strict with them.
It's amazing that walking is being marketed as a game. Has nobody realized how low Nintendo has made this industry go? Well, Personal Trainer Babiez: Crawling, will be the lowest.
@LegendofLInk:
Yeah, but think about it. The best thing that came out on the NES, were Mario and Zelda...and Nintendo were marketing as such.
But, now, Nintendo are saying the best game on the Wii is Wii Fit....it's just a bitch slape to the face
