Odin Sphere Figure As Pretty As The Game Itself

@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: Don't worry, you're not alone. I wanted so badly to like Odin Sphere, but its just not a very fun game. Couldn't even make it through Gwendolyn's story, despite wanting to play as the rabbit knight. Maybe one day I'll get back to it, but it'll be for the art more than anything else.

She looks about 8 years old. Is this really appropriate?

The game was pretty indeed.

But the gameplay was honestly annoying and having each area a big effing circle was just stupid.

I honestly feel like the only person who seems to dislike 90% of this game =/

I'd possibly buy it if doing so would hasten Muramasa coming to the US.

I have no more room for statues. Between my house and my office i'm over run. For Odin Sphere I may have to put away one of my least favorite (easier said than done).

Man, I'd love an Odin Sphere character statue!
And that's saying a lot since I don't usually buy game character statues/figures.
I have a Solid Snake statue that came with the Limited Edition version of MGS4, I have a tiny DMC2 Dante statue that I got as a birthday present from my EX, and I have four Final Fantasy Tactics statues which I bought myself.
So... Not that many.

But this one right here I could buy.
Not for that price though.

Yamato's Velvet looks even better.

Alter's Gwendolyn figure is pretty damn good too.

@Tracid: Looks like a plastic figurine to me but then again, that's coming from an everyday otaku. Then again, "won't somebody please think of the children" approach works just the same.

Each to their own but nevertheless, have to admit that in this particular case, the price point is a bit too steep.

I don't know if I'm just (sadly) desensitized to this kind of stuff or what, but I don't see any problem with this particular figure at all. It looks pretty cute and harmless enough to me.

But if you think THIS figure promotes pedophilia, Jesus Christ, wait till you see some of the ACTUAL pedo stuff the Japanese put out!

@Thaewyn: The inclusion of the Japanese audio was fantastic, and one of the best features of the overseas release, IMO. (Note: I'm not at all against English dubs of foreign games. I just like to hear things in their original / intended language.)

@.com: Here's hoping Muramasa will fix most (if not all) of those issues. They mentioned there was no loading between stages, and it seems like screen lag is almost gone, if the videos are any indication...

Just please god let them include Japanese audio again. English voiceovers for Japanese games tend to be horrendous (with some exceptions).

You aren't alone. I can appreciate the game--it was pretty and lots of people seemed to enjoy it, but I didn't. It was very frustrating to play.

@Xenigma: I made a big mistake when I started playing: I selected Hard mode. Apparently, beating the Queen of the Underworld on Hard is a bitch with all the lag.

I had to keep stocking up on those berserk potions and exploit the invulnerable blink phase when you get hit and just bash away point blank. Doing hit and runs just doesn't make sense with all that lag.

I reached Mercedes, then I stopped playing in favor of Persona 3.

Now, they need to slowly release figures for each other character. I want an Oswald to match Gwendolyn eventually. I'll gladly pick up the Velvet should it be released.

What got me more than anything else was the atrocious lag when the screen got really busy. That, and some of the load times.

I bought the game (for my PS3) the first time I could find one available in a store. It's gorgeous but I'll definitely side with those who find the gameplay a little one-dimensional. This franchise is screaming for a next-gen remake (imagine it playing similar to Little Big Planet but with weapons and killing).

@Icemael: Yeah, I'm a huge Beat 'Em Up fan, and I still got bored by this game.

Just can't top Guardian Heroes, I guess.

@Superspecs: The game is repetitive but I didn't think it was that bad.
