@eduardjm: I'm not in the same boat entirely. Kotaku is nice for flash news but the expanded features I usually go elsewhere for - like Edge. Though, I don't bother with their top 100 games list. They love Ocarina and Goldeneye waaay too much for their list to be credible.

But like you, for expanded features, I go elsewhere - mostly being media features (video/audio). Thankfully, Kotaku posts a lot of them but there's some I follow that they don't.

@Black-Dog-Howls: I can't say anything too fairly regarding Edge since I've never given it a chance myself, but there are conspiracies on the net about bias and console favoritism... Then again, those same conspiracies are sometimes projected on Kotaku, so I suppose it's all just silly.

I think I like that Kotaku is good for flash news though, and it's quality news. Yeah, there are occasional articles that get attacked for seeming unimportant, but this is a gaming blog, and anything can be regarded as blog-worthy, by definition of the blog.

Kotaku also feels more professional than something like Joystiq for example, which can be too silly sometimes with excessively photoshopped pics, hit-or-miss humor, or ostentatious writing styles.

I saw 'Playing Columbine' in LA on monday, and I was surprised by Crecente's involvement. Not only was he interviewed (along with every other superstar of the video game world), but he wrote on multiple other company sites about SCMRPG! It was neat being able to pick his name out of the void like that. It gave the reviews weight, and gave Crecente history. He's like Jeff Gerstmann now :D
