The Week In Games

Guess how many games are coming out this week?

If you answered more than two, I appreciate your optimism. Everyone else, you’re either well aware of how sluggish the month of May can be for new releases… or you’ve taken a peek at the rest of the post.

Looks like this week would be a fine time to catch up on some older, unfinished games. Or perhaps, if you’re like me, you’ll be grabbing the Broken Steel DLC for Fallout 3.

New releases for the w/c May 4:

Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce (PSP)
What Is it? The usual hack-and-slash Dynasty Warriors fare given a strong multiplayer focus, with up to four players able to join the battle.
Should You Care? With a slight solo experience, you’ve got to ask yourself, “Can I persuade four friends to pick this up as well?” I think we know the answer to that.

Ultimate Ninja 4: Naruto Shippuden (PS2)
What Is it? Part role-playing adventure, part one-on-one fighting game, all set in the popular manga world of Naruto.
Should You Care? Word is the story and the fighting system are pretty shallow, leaving this as one of the weaker Naruto titles. Even fans should be cautious.
