Am I the only one who likes "Dare" better? Seeing Hot Rod's first appearance in that glorious 24 frame per second high quality animation with this song blaring as he ripped through the country side.

God that movie was awesome.

@Ueziel: I'm in the same boat. But who knows...GH5 actually sounds/looks like it's addressing many of the issues I had with GHWT.

And one of those is DLC compatibility. So I would suggest holding onto "The Touch" and perhaps enjoying it more regularily once GH5 hits stores.

@MaximusDM: For me, Transformers ended in the 80s, and that's where I cherish most of my childhood memories. Just like Thundercats, He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe, Adventures Of The Galaxy Rangers, etc ...

I don't think the rights to Transformers really have anything to do with the rights of using Stan Bush's music. That license is for the game only which is based on the film--as far as my knowledge; which has nothing to do with the 1986 Transformers movie.

Which is why in the original article Stan Bush had personally e-mailed these companies to get his music in their game. Doubt he would have done something like that if he didn't own the rights to his own music. And he wasn't even in the first live action film anyway. He only came to the second I guess to throw the "fans" a bone. But from this remix they gave me, it is more like a stake through my childhood heart.

@Demon Guyver: If they say it´s free, it must be free. Saying that first is free and then it´s no it´s a **** move.

This was such a shitty month for GHWT DLC. This is the best way they could have salvaged it and washed the taste of Pink out of my mouth.

I am sad that The Touch isn't coming to rock band, however Instruments of Destruction is easily my favorite song off that soundtrack.

The soundtrack to the scene that changed my childhood when i saw it at the cinema, where all those iconic Autobots get blown away in the space of like 3 minutes.

This song is one of the many reasons I hate the fact i grew up in these 2 past forsaken shithole decades. I gre up in the 90s and the 00s but inside I am a person of the 70s and 80s. Anyway cool can't wait to play this on GH.

@comtar: Just to be clear, that's not really the "Transformers 2 version". It's not actually in the movie. It was something Stan Bush made independently, in hopes of it being included on the Transformers 2 soundtrack.

@Combine: I didn't really want to get into that. But if you watch the original animated movie, it is action from start to finish. The live action, is a story about a boy, Megan Fox's body and Hugo Weaving. I don't get the appeal people have for it.

The robots were made overly complicated in design and because of that they lost so much of their personality. On top of that, it made fight scenes very hard to follow. But I'm sure you could chalk that up to camera work too.

@scrapking: Possibly because it's sort of a joke, and people don't like paying for jokes. The song isn't exactly Hendrix's Little Wing. People are fond of it because it's a hilariously cheesy 80's rock song that was the exclamation point to the delightfully simple 80's Transformer movie.

It's such a niche song that if they charged money for it, NO ONE would buy it.

My most-current plastic rock-instrument game is GH3, so this definitely pushes me in the direction of GH:WT over RB2 as the next one to get.

It is a Master Track, not a cover, right? I wonder how they swung this as a freebie, rather than paid DLC.

Oh my god. Just watched the Transformers 2 version of The Touch... What the fuck did they do to that song? It's awful... truly awful. The version they had on that Chuck episode sounded even better then the original, sounded like the same vocals but redone instruments, which is all it needed. But good god.... what the fuck man?

Well, maybe I'll rent GH: World Tour from GameFly just to play it once and then be satisfied forever.

This is one of those times I wish I'd hitched my wagon to Guitar hero instead of Rock Band. Oh well. Both games are great and both deserve to pull ahead in the DLC race from week to week. The awesome cheesiness of this can not be overstated.

@TRT-X: it's back and it's free now. when something like this has happened in the past (and it has) they've always refunded the people who wound up paying for it, and sometimes they've even given them a little something extra for their troubles.

@AgainstOne: Here's hoping that not too many people bought it...that would be a real pisser.

@Falsoman: Since I have only rented WT and Metallica...I didn't realize until somebody pointed it out to me that the instruction manuals for both games include a "Unique Owner ID" on the back.

It is entirely possible that at a later date, this code could be used to gain access to content from those two games. I wouldn't bank on it, but it remains a distinct possibility.

Though I am at a loss to explain why Activision would not make this knowledge public as soon as possible. It would likely boost sales of upcoming titles (Smash Hits, Van Halen), and also gain some goodwill from jaded GH fans who are being attracted to the platform concept Harmonix has established.

@AdamW: He did the same thing for the first Transformers movie with "Till All Are One" and a redone "The Touch". This new version is pretty sad though, as it really looks like he tried to sound like Linkin Park so hard so he could get in the movie.

"Till All Are One" and "The Touch" that he did for the 2008 movie were much less "sell-out" sounding than this. They were actually pretty good.

@lonecow12: Sorry, but I couldn't stand Hot Rod. He was the 80s generation Emo and THE reason Optimus Prime went down for the count in that movie...

@TRT-X: And if it's true that you can also export import all the world-tour disc setlist like one can do with RB1, then this would be a buy for me no questions asked, since i love a lot of the songs form the world tour set list, but navigating to play them on wordld tour is kind of aweful. specially if you are on online multiplayer.

But i have a sinking feeling that THAT was misinterpreted by kotaku since i haven't read it anywhere else. Hopefuly it will be true.

If they would let me export to the HDD the songs on their other compilations (metallica, smash hits, van halen) i would totally buy them instead of renting/skipping them.

Still wish it was in Rock Band. And I totally agree about the Lion theme, Plunkett. The drum intro/intitial "transformers!" squeal is my ringtone for when my brother calls (the man who got me into robots at a wee age). And the alternate of "The Touch" is so bad it's literally not even funny. Must travel back in time to warn 80s-Bush of future in peril...

Sure we all felt like that back in the day, but Rodimus was probably the only fully developed character on that show, and he had some great one liners in the actual series. Plus he was probably the best fighter in the series. Optimus, if you go back and watch gets his butt handed to him quite frequently. But he looks cooler so everyone is okay with it. But Rodimus is fast and powerful, and pretty much effortlessly wins every fight.

Plus his fight with Optimus in Dark Awakening is probably the best battle in the entire series. Rodimus even cracks jokes Spider-Man stile during the fight mocking the absurdity that he has to fight his mentor. If Roddy had been given a face mask like Optimus when he opened the Matrix no one would have had any problem with him.

Yes I am a huge Transformer nerd and a Rodimus apologist and I'm fine with that.

Man, 46.54MB for 1 song. These 20GB hard drives fill up fast, don't they?
I guess a lot of data gets packed into making the singer look like they are somewhat mouthing the words, and maybe some band actions? Other than that I'm sure the note tracks take up next to no space and the actual music can't take up much more than 10MB if it's insane quality (which I'm sure it is)
