Fable III “Confirmations” Come From The Darndest Places

Is Lionhead working on Fable III? In some capacity, almost definitely. Considering the success of Fable II, not developing a third game in the series would be throwing money away. But we didn’t expect this kind of Fable III “confirmation.”

So who’s mentioning Fable III now? The New York Times, which is typically not wrong about much. More specifically, the Times “Weddings/Celebrations” section is talking about the next Fable game. Yes, Fable III is being mentioned alongside the announcement of Lionhead designer Joshua Atkins’ weekend wedding. PR is so weird!

This nuptial news source isn’t the first time Fable III has been rumoured to be underway, as British TV personality Jonathon Ross indicated his voiceover involvement in the third chapter. Peter Molyneux has hinted at what’s to come in future Fable games, citing the “See The Future” expansion as “a flavour at what’s going to be happening” in the next episode.

Again, no real confirmation that Fable III exists—for that, we’re checking in with Microsoft. But if it did, would anyone be surprised?

    Molyneux squandered every last drop of goodwill that the original Fable earned him when he released the crapfest that was Fable II.

    @OtisElevator: Now, the New Yorker. Those guys have some crazy fact checkers. The NYT is no more or less accurate (maybe less, since they're a daily and get sued less frequently) than the National Enquirer or People.

    @Gyaruson: Lol- my wedding announcements had nothing to do with my business either, but seeing as I work in mental health that's a good thing.

    The Gossy wedding last Sunday was a beautiful and well attended ceremony. Gossy is hoping nobody kills themselves whilst he is on honeymoon.

    Sure be bad at keeping secrets but they could've just said senior design director for fable 2, lol this is just going to be one of those - 'gah I didn't mean for you to put it on print sort of times.'

    Ha! I work at a tire store and my wedding announcement had nothing to do with my business. Although if it did...

    And the Smith/Jones wedding was held at Raymond City Church on Saturday the 18th. Gyaruson Smith works at Local Tire Buyer, which also happens to being having a Buy 3 Get 1 Free Sale.
