The games, to me, have been hit or miss... largly on the miss side of things. MGS for the PS1 is the only real MGS game I enjoyed. The others have been disapointing.

Ever since then I've been bombarded with MG fans everywhere... it's the grown mans Sonic. I fail to understand the hype and find myself just slightly annoyed that I can't escape conversations about it.

I get that lots of people really like it... I was just hoping to see something new. More MGS isn't what I would call 'new'. Oh well... can't blame a man for making a living.

YAAAAAAY. Yet another arcade game I have to buy a $3000 plane ticket to play.
The us arcade market is dwindeling at best.

I remeber growing around here in south flroida about 15 years ago. There was an arcade at every mall, at the 7-11 there were games, pizza huts.... OMG IT WAS AWESOME.. Come on, eating pizza, your pizzas dine, you look down and have gauntlet or pac man staring you in the face. Those were the days.

You wana know what we have now in a 500 miles radius...
2. 2 freaking arcades. and every store/resturant that once had a cabinet or table has since thrown them out rather then contiune with upkeep.

and of those 2 arcades, 1 is right down the street with laser tag, go karts....
But the newest arcade game they have is house of the dead 4 so.... The other is 30 minutes away with a roller coaster....... and some slot mochines.

@typingfromwork: I never tried it either and I regret it. At the time I was too scared of sucking at it and looking like a foreign idiot. I mean, joysticks and pedals seem very unnatural controls for an FPS.

@Leopard89: The problem is that while Kojima may desire to work on different IP Konami is most likely forcing him to continue the MG saga after all it sells and quite a lot, Kojima's recent comment about Rising may be a proof of this.

After the closure of mgs4 and the amount of times Kojima said stuff like "MGS4 is the last MGS", "I don't want to work on another MG for a while, someone else can", "I want to work on some IP" I am truly disappointed in Kojima and I have lost all faith in him.

Also, there is a place called the Trocadero in Philly, where I live, but it's a cool music venue not an arcade. I went to my first ever punk rock show there when I was a kid!

Sounds awesome. I'm one of the people who devours anything Metal Gear. Isn't it true we are getting some form of the Metal Gear 2 motion graphic novel? I will buy it in a second if it's true.

Am I the only person that is tired of metal gear? For that matter I wish kojima would branch out a little more and give us a few more games to look at. I mean Molineux is a 1 trick pony and he freaked us out with milo. Give us more Kojima give us more.

@Ganon255: Uh huh gotta admit its a real shame that arcade and face to face competitive gaming have fallen to just a hobby of fanatics and PC gamers. I remember reading the article of the street fighter 2 arcade gamer, while I found it lame that he likened his gaming to some kind of sport it did make me yearn for the good old days Marvel vs Capcom, SNK, and Metal Slug. Its even worse in the UK where Tekken 5 machines can cost £2 (about $4) and the only seemingly decent arcade is the Trocadero in central London where you have got more chance of getting robbed than advancing past the first stage in Time Crisis.

you can play through the single player on it, but i just don't see how that could be fun in an arcade.

With the 3d glasses, they should've gone further and added fake blood sprays and bullet simulations in the chair that punch you when you're hit

So when the players are done they'd bo covered in blood and have bruses all over them, with a big smile of satisfaction, ofcourse :)
