@Cururu: The thing about the confrence is not the games. their presentation to me is simply boring. They themselves don't even seem thrilled to show us what they have.

Honestly, those who said this was no better than last year's conference need their eyes or reading comprehension checked. Why? For starters, no core games were announced last year. Now there are at least five. Whether you liked those five or not is irrelevant. Fact is that they focused on the core audience a bit more this year, and that should have made it at least a bit better.

What probably would have made the conference much better was if they had exclusive footage of already-announced games.

I'm not sure how I feel about Team Ninja handling my beloved Metroid series, but other than that, they did pretty well. Not as well as MS or Sony, but still, better than I thought.

What complete and utter disappointment. Ninetendo just doesnt seem to realize they are going to drag farther and farther behind and will soon become another sega or Atari.

I mean come on, whos gonna fall for this vitality crap?? it just reads your pulse, thats all it can do.... you can save the $59.99 and touch thr side of your neck for free.

I think this went pretty well! That's two good pressers now this year. Makes up for Nintendo's lame showings the past two years.

The new Metroid game and both new Mario games look fun, and the DS continues to be cool.

Some mis-steps with the focus on Wii motion plus and the vitality sensor, but they're forgiven based on that Metroid trailer alone.

The problem Nintendo has,is that they rely far too much on proven franchises.This means nothing will astonish or excite as they continue to show Mario,or Zelda,or Metroid.There is no fault in reimagining of a classic,but to do so with games that have been rehashed so many times before,becomes a letdown.I love Mario,but really how much can people take of him?

But it's still somewhat disappointing when a great developer like Nintendo doesn't announce much that interests me, what they do announce is a sequel and they spend the conference talking about MotionPlus and Wii Vitality.

And Sony starts in half an hour. It's almost too much to follow from home, I can't begin to imagine how exhausting it must be for journalists (who are covering the event, not just strolling around).

And I come out of that almost completely underwhelmed except for New Super Mario Wii and maybe Cop.

My wife, who love the Wii, doesn't give a shit about E3.

I don't know that I am a "hardcore" gamer, but I really want to have the same fondness for the Wii that I do for every other Nintendo platform. I want them to trot out some long dormant franchise.

Am I excited about the new Metroid and Mario? Hell yeah. Will I buy them? Hell yeah.

But announcing some finger periferal, a bunch of third-party exclusives that we (meaning the people paying attention to E3) have known about for a long time, and casual games that we are not interested in, is doing nothing to solidify the foundation upon which their company has been successful for 25 years.

Golden Sun, cool. aaaand. well, nothing else for me, really. I'm sure others will appreciate Mario Galaxy 2 and the 3 gamer games they showed. I'm interested in Metroid but wonder if it will feel like Metroid. The co-op Super Mario Bros is neat, I guess.

Nintendo set sucked compared MS. Like comparing a NYC studio to a California mansion.

Also more talking and less demos of games than MS.

I think it's pretty clear that no matter what Sony shows Nintendo is the clear loser of E3. MS so far is the winner and while I'm sure Sony will have some cool things to show there's I don't think they'll be able to touch the MS conference or Project Natal.

With the demo they showed this isn't so far fetched and with Peter M. behind the project I think he'll do his best to create what will ultimately become the standard in AI for gaming.

We either saw all of this coming, or it's not particularly exciting.

I admit, I'm curious to see what they can DO with the motion plus, I wouldn't have expected basketball to be possible. And if the archery turns out well, I'd love to see it in the next Zelda game. But...

Come on, really? I had planned to sit at my desk and sort filing while I read the liveblog, but... I felt so completely underwhelmed that I actually went around the office doing other things and only checked back in periodically to see if I missed anything. And I felt that my time was better spent doing that than reading this.

Sigh... and I had such high hopes. Where's the magic, Nintendo?

Overall, it was MUCH better than last year but still lacking. (The Vitality Sensor was really odd. I hope it was a joke like Luke said. lol) They are promoting two corridor shooters "Dead Space and Resident Evil" like they are the second coming though.

So far Microsoft has done the best. I eagerly await Sony's Press Conference in the next 40 mins.

Pretty lame overall... why Super Mario Galaxy 2? How about a brand new Mario game.

I must admit I am a little sad. I was hoping after last year Nintendo would have learned their lesson. They didn't. Thus far I have to say Microsoft has the lead at E3, but I want to see what Sony has up their sleeves. Sad, the only console I don't own has the best press conferences. Oh well, at least I don't need to worry about a RROD :)

@Ueziel: Ill admit that nintendo really needed to step up their game with this one and I feel that they failed to deliver. I really wanted them to do well but recently my wii has been collecting dust.

Definitely redeemed their previous conference with actual games the core would be interested in such as Dead Space, Super Mario, Resident Evil, and Metroid.

They still have a long way to go and I'd expect Zelda to make an appearance at TGS2009.

certainly confusing for me.......its like Nintendo stabbed me and then brought me back to life a couple of times....i dont know what to make of it yet....I mean most of the games targeted towards me were already announced and were no surprise....i was really expecting more than just Metroid and Golden Sun....I certainly had plenty of anger when they announced that pulse thing after all the build up to what i thought would be something rather amazing....but yea I seriously wished nintendo brought more to the plate than just what has been already announced...

@Đipic: I'd say it was pretty decent. You gotta expect a lot of soccer mom padding in a Nintendo conference. Their investors like that.

Decent conference overall. The Metroid announcement REALLY saved it. We mostly saw games that we already knew about and didn't show anything too surprising, a couple game announcements that sound alright, a vitality sensor that has all of us going... "wha?", and an amazing looking Metroid game.

On the whole I think MS's was better, but man did Metroid look GOOD.

Maybe it's because I had such low expectations, but I found that press conference pretty damn good. They didn't dwell on Wii Fit and Brain Training for 90% of the duration, and they showed/announced some pretty good stuff. If I cared about Mario at all, I imagine I'd be even more impressed. All in all, good job, Ninty.

I'm disappointed. I'm sure these new marios and metroids will be good mario and metroid games, and I definitely like when companies keep old franchises fresh, but come on. I'd love for them to put a fraction of their hardware R&D budget towards showing us something genuinely new in the software realm.

Although thank god I'll finally be able to keep track of my pulse while I'm killing Bowser again.

I've actually thought of this before. I think it'd be cool; have a game get harder as your heart rate goes up. Especially awesome for something like a bullet-hell shmup, or determining the speed of a Tetris game. I think it could provide an interesting dynamic.

After watching MS confrence yesterday, I really feel sorry for Nintendo right now. I wounder how many people got up and went to play some more demo games?

It's really hard to look at Wii games nowadays. I know it's more about the controls and such but the yesteryear graphics are really starting to show their age.

And now that MS has taken the controller out of the equation skydiving with one hand just doesn't look like fun.

I don't really think that the activities in Sports Resort have the immediate appeal or simplicity that the ones in the original Wii Sports had. Bowling, Tennis and Golf etc. vs. Canoeing and archery etc.

I want Pikmin 3 for Wii, 2D Metroid for DS and a new IP. I'm not sure how I feel about a new Zelda, if it does something to stand out like a Majora's Mask then I'm interested. If not then i won't be, I'm getting tired of the formula. It would also be nice for some RPGs like Golden Sun or a Mother game.
