I can easily associate this with FF Tactics, plus we had a FFT for PSX (and a remade version for PSP, but it's the same game), a FFT A1 and A2 for Nintendo DS.

This would make this the fourth game in the franchise.

also, there is a remake of SaGa 1 coming to the DS at some point in the near future, so there's that.

or the music quality could be a red herring and this could be GRANDIA 4.

I personally believe that this will be Romancing SaGa 4 or a new Drakengard game for the Nintendo DS, but there are signs of a Final Fantasy I remake (probably done by Matrix Software like the rest). Whatever the case may ne, no one has appeared to crack the code, so perhaps this really will be a new IP.

@svenhoek: Still Happy Pitt Won!: Places like Kotaku giving them coverage makes it worth doing for the publishers. As I recall certain sites said they would try stop giving them so much coverage...although I may have imagined it. :/

It will probably be a remaked Final Fantasy I from Matrix Software, but I am crossing my fingers for Romancing SaGa 4 or Grandia 4.

Basically what you said, but more emphasis on the whole "Chosen" thing.

And lots of swords, and the drama/dialogue equating to a late-night rerun animé on public broadcasting. And the enemy has either a god-complex, or a Neo-Darwinistic "The weak shall perish, only the strong survive, lols."

Oh, and the main character has amnesia and/or a troubled past, and probably doesn't play by the rules, which inadvertently and oddly enough is the only two things the girl needs to fall in love with him.

And don't forget the comedic relief, either a womanizing overly feminized man, or a lovable fat Tiger/Bird mix named Jargalskipade, who you can ride.

Here's an Idea, What if a company did this to a game and it was released within a few weeks of it being announced.
