EA Mixes It Up With Club Fight Night

EA beats Activision’s DJ Hero to the punch, launching its own DJ game as part of Club Fight Night, the newly-opened addition to the EA Sports Complex in PlayStation Home.

While the Club DJ mini-game looks rather entertaining, the real action is in the main ring, where two giant, player-controlled robots rock and sock each other senseless. One shall stand, and one shall fall, with the winner treated to exclusive virtual items to help punctuate their accomplishments.

Once you’re done beat other players senseless, head to the DJ booth for the Club DJ mini-game. A simple rhythm game, hitting the buttons to the beat causes your avatar to get his or her groove on, with the club lights pulsing and throbbing to your heavy beats. It may not be DJ Hero, but it’s free, which counts for something.

As if all of this weren’t enough, EA also plans on opening the EA Sports Complex Pro Shop on July 30th, where customisation is just a little bit of money away.

The Club Fight Night addition further solidifies the EA Sports Complex’s position as the most fully realised location in PlayStation Home. Log on and check it out for yourselves!

    @heretrix: The only things wrong with its execution I see are the long load times (made easier to swallow by buffering the loads while you walk around), and the fact that it isn't integrated into the PS3 OS itself.

    Otherwise, it's executed quite well, it's just that the idea isn't actually as good as it originally sounded.

    @Anarchist_Gamer: Except that if you've been in Home, you'd realized that the first half of that statement is almost unequivocably true.

    @Anarchist_Gamer: Just because he appreciates the quality of a product does not make him a sellout, you know. Most of Home is an embarassment, and it sounds like this is actually worth a moment of your time, and that's quite exceptional.

    I don't doubt it's fun, but I don't think it's probably as awesome as Doritos. Doritos are an Intense Experience. Prepare to take snacking to a higher level.

    ...Sorry, what were we talking about again?

    @NexusSIX: Eats Gods for breakfast: Yay! We have more options to wait in obnoxiously long lines for!

    When I saw those EA labels on the records for a second I thought they were real and I threw up in my mouth a little bit.

    Could they put less effort into making those turntables look like something people actually DJ with? I could be wrong, but I don't think I've ever DJd in a club with straight arms before.

    Besides how boring Home can be, the virtual lines for these mini games are redonkalous. What a waste of resources this Home is.

    Well it is still better than Second Life. It is good to prevent people from sticking digital penises all over their bodies, and keep out those filthy degenerate furries.

  • SteadyRoxpin

    wow ps home is getting cooler by the day

  • heretrix

    It's a shame that Home is a cool idea so poorly executed that it makes the whole thing pointless.

    @Kuwabara Kazuo:

    Stealing from Sony or Home is like mugging a bum. Is how little you can make really worth the effort?

  • NexusSIX: Eats Gods for breakfas

    @Kuwabara Kazuo: In the Rockband mini game, you can hear people play, not that it was great listening though.

  • Commander Shepard

    @ShoopDaBoofs:

    Well I was hoping for a : "I am serious and don't call me Shirley" but you probably haven't seen Airplane.

  • ShoopDaBoofs

    @Commander Shepard: Not sure what you're getting at but yes? I have not gone in to home once since the beta.

    Trying out for a PR position at EA, Fahey? I mean, damn, people pay good money for language like that. Wow.
