    @Cpryd001: All I can say is Halo is like star wars and GOW is like 300.... I rest my case.

    Ill go see it for sure as long as Kate Beckinsale is NOT in it.I don't wanna get caught ummm doing things in the theater
    She's the only reason i haven't seen click :P
    Though i'm told i didn't miss much

    @GiZzY67: The Gears 2 ending was one of the worst endings I've had the misfortune of playing in a game. I beat it 1st time, with little difficulty. Beating the original Gears actually felt like an accomplishment.

    When there are other parts of the game that are more difficult than the ending Epic should've known they had some balance issues. It felt like they ran out of time and just slapped this ending on.

    @Cpryd001: From snow regions to beaches, forests and swamps, forerunner ruins and structures, human settlements and covenant ships... that's the beauty of halo. Gears has some blown up, fiery desolate ruins of a city. Oh, and underground dirt.

    excaleranth

  • xybur

    @Cpryd001: Eh, Gears has alot of snow as well, which are obviously bright whites. Also, Gears has a very distinct, gritty and detailed look to it. I can arguably say that Gears is immediately recognizable as a Gears game just by looking at screen caps too.

  • iEro-Sennin

    @Cpryd001:

    Maybe that's because every UE3 game looks the same?

    iEro-Sennin

  • FyreWulff

    @Luke Michael Timothy: Halo didn't happen due to studio politics.

  • FyreWulff

    @Korvis: CliffyB already said it ain't happening because people with computers good enough to run GoW2 will all know how to pirate it so they aren't going to even bother.

  • ShenaniganSnake

    So, are we to assume that Gears of War 3 will coincide with the movie's release?

    Now if only they could fix those shotguns in Gears of War 2...

  • Cpryd001

    @Corduroy Turtle:

    You're allowed to have that opinion. But, I must say.... "ARE YOU SERIOUS?!"

    It's browns! BROWNS! There's so much gritty colors and spikes and chunks that it burns the eyes!

    Halo has lush forestry, beautiful purple alien spacecrafts, and some really epic sci-fi scenery. You take one quick glance at a halo screenshot, and you automatically KNOW it's Halo.

    I can't say the same for Gears.

  • Korvis

    if only they would announce gow2 pc version =/

  • inkblotgod

    the gears movie sounds awesome and it sounds like it can be really good but again, there are many decisions that go into a feature film along with a game itself...lots of things get cut and things are improvised last minute...so th emovie still might not be as good as its sounding.

    It doesnt feel like they're milking the franchise to me...i just dont get that feeling from this alleged movie talk. Unlike halo's milking session.
    I think gears definitely lends itself to live action media. Lets hope the CG is good.

    I agree that epic sohuld be working on fixing gears flaws but if they waited until all the flaws in gears were fixed and then announced their movie...it wouldnt have the same ring. I think its also the style in which the gears games are portrayed that lend themselves to feature film material.

  • Deadened

    if the movie comes out, and they are still planning more games afterward, i wonder if the game characters will start to look (and maybe sound) more like the actors in the movie.

  • Bergerac

    @DragonNinja: No he has a point. Companies are franchising everything and creating comics for 50% of games because it's the 'thing to do' these days and that's about it.

    Bergerac

  • StrategyMonk

    @Corduroy Turtle:

    Make that two.

  • Bergerac

    He's left the iron on.

  • Michael Parsons

    They should be talking about things like fixing GoW2's horrid multiplayer.

    The movie sounds like it will be cool though.

    @GorbyGipper:

    If that's the case Michael Bay will be vying for the chance to direct it. It'll probably be more over the top than Transformers: ROTF... if that's possible. Which is a big if. On the bright side he couldn't really harm the franchise. Gears is loved for it's gameplay not it's dialogue.

  • Corduroy Turtle

    Gears is a more interesting story than Halo, in my opinion. And, the art direction of Gears simply stomps Halo's. Again, one man's opinion.

    @fanboyish:

    Well it takes all kinds I guess. Thanks for the insults though, always a pleasure. I'm aware lots of people like the game, me included, I didn't actually realise people thought the story deserved stretching so far. Maybe they started so thinly to begin with so they can amaze everyone with the inclusion of a woman. Smart.

    @DragonNinja:

    It's called 'saying what you think' i.e. the whole purpose of the comments section. Yes, I genuinely think the Gears story is a pile of shit, no I'm not just saying it to get a rise out of people who think otherwise.

    I think MS has more vested in Halo. Their Halo movie would have to be a good movie. They'd want it to be something non-gamers would see and enjoy.

    Gears, as a game, is popcorn fluff drenched in blood. It's a summer action movie. Making a Gears movie would probably be pretty easy. I haven't read the script floating around, but I'd imagine it would be full of one-liners, some over-wrought soldier philosophy, and explosions every 35 seconds.

    Halo couldn't get away with that. Gears could, and it would be the best for a Gears movie if they stick to that direction. A Gears movie should be pure fan service, and based on what the game is, that shouldn't be THAT hard to pull off.

    GorbyGipper

  • DragonNinja

    @drag: Oh Christ another troll.

  • Str8_Jihadin

    @Luke Michael Timothy:

    Because Fox and Universal aren't at each other's throats over Gears.

  • fanboyish

    @drag:
    It might be hard for your little brain to process but there are actually a lot of Gears fans out there who think the game and its story have a lot of potential.
    And those fans are interested in this movie, as long as it turns out to be good.

  • CamilleAmythaon

    Gears 2 was so laggy and glitchy it had the most problems in any game I have ever played and gears 1 was the same case they need to learn how to make a game so they don't have to make so many patches epic sucks.

    CamilleAmythaon

  • Luke Michael Timothy

    Why are they making a Gears Movie when they won't even make a Halo Movie?

    Luke Michael Timothy

  • TheExiledLeader

    I would be pissed if the voice cast doesn't at least have a BG cameo

  • Rompehamster

    @GiZzY67: Gears 2 was weak compared to the first one. No beserkers and a shitty replacement for Gen.Ramm And the whole "Maria" thing made me cringe.

    And Carmine's death was awesome in the first one, which was quick and funny. They made his brother's death long and sad.

    Horde mode was probably the the only thing that kept me playing.

    Rompehamster

  • RageKage

    @drag: Because you're being forced to pay attention to any of it, right?

  • TOWER_JUNKIE

    While I really enjoy the games, I don't find the Gears universe particularly interesting.

    TOWER_JUNKIE

  • RageKage

    Here comes more hate.

  • GiZzY67

    Gears 2 was awesome. I know I'm not the only one wondering exactly each movie would take place and which games it includes... I thought the ending was satisfying. I mean the ending of the first one on insane took me a few hours to finish. I'm not gonna lie...

  • drag

    Oh christ. Listen, you've got barely enough storyline to stretch over 2 games. Stop with the comes and books and films already.

    Same goes for everyone else too.
