This ought to see you through the weekend. 2k have announced the release of the “2K Huge Game Pack” on Steam, which bundles BioShock, five Civ titles, five X-Com titles and nine other games, all for $US54.

Here’s every game you get in the pack:

Sid Meier’s Civilization IV
Sid Meier’s Civilization III Complete
Sid Meier’s Pirates!
Shattered Union
Prey
CivCity: Rome
Civilization IV: Warlords
Sid Meier’s Railroads!
Railroad Tycoon 3
Railroad Tycoon II Platinum
X-COM: Terror From the Deep
X-COM: Apocalypse
BioShock
X-COM: Interceptor
X-COM: UFO Defense
X-COM: Enforcer
Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword
Freedom Force
Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich
Sid Meier’s Civilization IV: Colonization

Wow. The pack will normally retail for $US60, but this weekend will only be $US54. Not bad when you consider the games are $US230 purchased individually.

Kotaku AU Note: This pack doesn’t appear to be on the Australia Steam store. Checking with the local 2K office to find out what’s happening…

2K pack is region locked and not available in AU.

Again region locking and region pricing is at work…

the other deal of Fallout 3 is 10USD cheaper in the USA. yes there is a different pricing for a lot of games from region to region … steam blame the developers and the developers blame steam …

Re: region pricing. Almost all games on Steam are priced according to region. The only exceptions tend to be those games not sold at traditional retail stores.

do games publishers/retailers think Australians are so happy and nice because they all live on mountains of gold and have swimming pools of crude oil? seriously I’ve said it before and I’ll say its again…why don’t you GET F**KED publishers and retailers.

Dude! Give the publishers a break. It costs millions to ship smaller than DVD case sized packages in bulk weighing in at a colossal 80 grams!

    *sigh* I agree.

It annoys me even more that it gives no hint to WHY it’s not available, it just doesn’t show up.

Strangely enough I’ve been keeping an eye out on railroads for a while now hoping to pick it up, and being annoyed that I see references to BUYING it from steam, but being not just unable to, but being unable to be sure WHY!!!
