You'd think with a name like Devil Kings that Devil May Cry's Dante would be a shoe in to appear... apparently Capcom aren't thinking clearly.

@TRT-X: Yes but the reason it sucked, and thus sold like shit, was because Capcom US decided to make it "cool" by changing everything to demons and underworld instead of keeping the original Japanese setting (or to set it apart from Dynasty Warriors as if it really needed that). So then people like me decided to fuck capcom for destroying an awesome game and they decided that because it didn't sell well they aren't going to release the sequels. I guarantee you that if they released SB3 over here as Sengoku Basara 3, it would sell a hell of a lot better than Devil Kings ever did (if they leave Japanese language option).

@Lebensengel: The problem is Devil Kings (the American version anyway) was such crap that I basically said "why bother" and stuck with DW.

Then Warriors Orochi 2 came out and the rest is history.

Honestly, if it goes to anything besides PS3/360, it's just going to piss people off. I just don't see how they could do a true sequel on the Wii, as SB2:Heroes was already pushing it, while putting direct sequels to console franchises on portables is just a bad idea (although it didn't stop DQ9 from doing it...)

@the7k: Agreed. I think Basara is a bit too complex, combat-wise, to be on the Wii though. It really needs a real controller.

@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: Coincidentally, Sengoku Basara 2 was the first PS2 game I got after getting Swap Magic. It was like fate itself.

Great, another Basara game that won't come out in America and I won't be able to import it because of region-locking.

@Archaotic: I could see it being on the Wii (although I wouldn't be happy with that...), but didn't they already release a PSP game that carried a subtitle?

It makes me think they'll use the PSP for 'Side-Missions'. Besides, the PS3/360 has plenty of Dynasty Warriors - they need some competition.

@the7k: Yeah, I'd have to assume it'd be multiplatform (or PS3 exclusive) if it's on the HD consoles. Considering it'll likely be Japan-only, a PS3-exclusive wouldn't be too surprising.

Then again, it could also be a Wii or PSP game, for that matter. Blegh.

@Archaotic: Yeah - if it comes to the X360 only, I'd be sad face too...

But would Capcom really make such a blunder? It's a very Japanese game on a very American console. Just because Square does it doesn't mean Capcom will be so foolish.

BlazBlue feels a lot like how a more fleshed out Basara X would be. The characters all have super unique abilities, one of them can freeze guys, one guy is huge and uses some machinery, etc.

The point here is that Basara X was fun and I'd like to play a real normal Basara game.

PS3 please >_> At least I would have a chance in playing it. My Wii ain't Japanese =(

At least I think so. I've extremely pleased that a sequel is coming.

Capcom asked a few weeks ago in their twitter if they should change keep the name Sengoku Basara or change it something else, so I guess they're not giving up just yet.

@(Zombie) Goldwings: The problem is Capcom gave up on NA/EU release because of how bad it sold, the game got better SB2 had a truckload of new features and improvements but localization never cross capcom mind heck even Sengoku Basara:Battle Heroes for PSP is awesome and yet nothing for us.

I had high hopes for DK but in the end capcom gave up on competing with DW and SW out side of JP.

@Curse_Lily: No I agree with you on it being fun and for all its faults, I say if you love a quick button mashing game, DK over DW any day. Also less characters mean more time for them to be unique, yes I'm looking at you Dynasty Warriors 6 >:(

Picture Dynasty Warriors, except fun and with way more extras to unlock. That is what Heroes was.

The controls were bad but simple
the difficulty was insane
VERY colorful and strange cast compare to DW or SW
bad voice acting
Horrible camera
12 characters only

But it was fun and i love it for it and i still play it from time to time ^_^

Also, for those reading this who don't follow anime, an anime version of Sengoku Basara aired this last season, with a second season confirmed a little while ago. It was well recieved ( at least on the chans ) So they're putting out another game to go with it.

Capcom must really consider this franchise a lost cause in the United States. After Devil Kings, this series has pretty much faded from existence over here and they haven't made a single attempt to try and give it a second chance. A shame considering the first was half-decent (If you can excuse gross bastardization by Hiroyuki to appease us Americans who can't understand "hard" things like foreign culture mixed with fantasy).

Either way, I can live without Basara 2, Basara 2 Heroes and the upcoming 3, but no Sengoku Basara X and Sengoku Basara Battle Heroes is alienating a whole other fanbase. I really wish they'd consider other options before shelving all games related to this franchise.

@Curse_Lily: Agrees. I STILL haven't gotten to play Sengoku Basara 2 because my Japanese PS2 broke before I could.
