Kotaku really needs to find a better content delivery platform. For the past 6 months, every single Kotaku-branded video that I have watched stops half way through and slowly stutters through the other half. This happens regardless of browser or Flash version, location and time of day. Is anyone else having problems like this?

@The_Traveler: Well they have to work with the material that's been given them. Star Wars has always been a lot more black and white than the real world really is. Blame that on George Lucas rather lackluster characterization skills or whatnot but the Star Wars galaxy doesn't color its races with believable personalities.

@The_Traveler: I think the books especially the Legacy of the Force did a great job of portraying the Mandalorians. Yeah they were brutal at times and show no mercy to their enemies, but they also were farmers who worked hard and had families. Man I love that series.

Pretty cool video. As much as I hate MMOs, I'm really getting interested in this game.

This video is a credit to BioWare. One small complaint: why is it standard in science fiction and fantasy to make a culture so one-dimensional? "The Mandalorians are a race who [insert absolute generalization]" Or look at the Star Wars entry on Bothans. I mean, a whole race devoted to spying? Please!

Cultures don't work like that. Heck, take the Spartans (since people compared this video to the add for 300). Even in a culture famed for its rustic violence, you had poets like Tyrtaeus who totally went against type and wrote scandalous poetry about abandoning his shield in battle (which is totally verboten).

I guess I've taken too much history. Anyway, I do think BioWare deserves credit for the video.

Boba Fett is cool. This new backstory isn't.
Star Wars died when episode 1 was released.

Either that or BioWare will anticipate this issue and come up with ridiculous rewards for playing an underplayed class or underpower bounty hunters and jedi purposefully.

I'd bet the new Mandalore is going to turn out to be in cahoots with the Sith or even be a Sith himself. Seems very convenient that the Sith and Mandalores would both return simultaneously to challenge the Jedi. Sounds like a great plot for a video game....

uh no, those books are not cannon at all.

He is talking about the over 40 canon EU novels, that have fett in them. Most recently Fett has accepted his role as leader of the mandolorians and is ruling them back on there homeworld

So... Mand'alor is the title of the current leader of the nomadic race of warriors called the Mandalorians. They consider themselves family even though they come from all different parts of the galaxy. (Incidentally all the known Mandos are human.) Boba Fett's father was the Mand'alor so the Mandalorians wanted Boba to take the title and lead. Fenn Shysa (the former Mand'alor) made him promise to take the job after Boba killed him. So yes, he is a mandalorian.

BTW apparently mandalor also means a rotten penis. Just FYI.
