PAL PlayStation Store Update: Tobin’s Spirit Guide, 1943 Edition

Some good stuff on offer for Europeans and Australasians this weekend, with both Battlefield 1943 and a Ghostbusters demo sure to keep your mind off England’s impending Ashes defeat.

If busting ghosts or tropical bloodbaths aren’t your thing, you could always try some of DLC available this week, which includes add-ons for Skate 2, MotorStorm 2, Dynasty Warriors 6 and Rock Band.

And if they don’t interest you? Then perhaps the addition of one of this generation’s worst games, Little Britain, to the PSP store might be more your style.

@ShadowOdin isn't american: It is indeed really sad. One of the major reasons are French, German and Italian versions of the game. They demand to have the games on their own language.

Majority of europeand would play their games in english, but releasing english version first is impossible, right. Even thought PSX games are old, there is a bit more trouble updating it with all those language versions.

I'm rather surprised no-ones pointed out Archer Mclean's Mercury for PSP yet; it's a great game and at only £4.79 it's an absolute steal (especially considering a good number of poor PSP games cost a fair bit more on the PSN) - if you haven't played it yet, get it. Battlefield 1943 is far more impressive than i thought it was going to be, and am presently annoyed i might just have to shell out the £9.99 for it *sighs - money*. Finally; Motorstorm! I don't like Pacific Rift quite as much as the first game, but the price points on these expansion packs is very reasonable *sighs - more money*. I hate you Sony... Now were's WipEout HD Fury and Fat Princess so i can spend even more?

About that 1943 trial. I played it for about 2 rounds and was told my trial had expired. Only 2 rounds? The Bad Company trial was much longer than that.

@ShadowOdin isn't american: lol it's like the saying - Meet the New boss, same as the old boss. and damn that pricing sucks. Fortunately I've got my PSN card for $50 so that should suffice.
  • dd528
They made a game of Little Britain? I did not know that, although Google seems to suggest that it's about as good as you might expect.

Sad to see they still haven't gotten the same stream of PSX-classics on the european store as on the american. It shouldn't be this hard if Microsoft can handle it. Didn't SCEE get a new boss? Geesh Well, it's not like the US-store gets that many noteworthy games, I still like to see that they've gotten the ball rolling.
  • OMG! DEITY!
@VenomIreland: Back-ups? Cool, I also download "back-ups" of my Games for DS and of Movies recorded inside a theatre the day it was released.
  • ray89
@deanbmmv: I played the game for about 6 hours thinking it just needs patience, but good lord, the free roam is boring...there's nothing to do! The only good race I had was when the tornadoes came and it threw buses at you. That was pretty awesome. But one good race after about 6/7 hours? No thanks.

This looks like a great week! I'm looking forward to the MotorStorm expansion, I'll get it this afternoon. Am I the only one who wishes there was an expansion or sequel for Flower? And another thing, I can't find .deTuned or Detuned or whatever it's called on the European Store! I've been looking for it since May... can anyone help me out?

@Dannon: Sounds like you want what the entire PC fanbase wants...

@WhatTheFrag: Found the price on the european blog.
UK is getting shafted pretty bad.

"Trine will be priced at 19.99€, 19.99$ and 19.99£ on the PlayStation Store."
    Yeah, that makes sense...somewhere
  • BigWyrm
@deanbmmv: I've beaten the game and haven't ran into that or any other kind of problem.
  • WhatTheFrag
@Devilbless: It'll be out in a few weeks is what they said and I'm assuming it's about the same price as Wipeout for UK users not sure about the price for EU.
  • UnkleBuck
No MGS. Again. I give up...

@Dannon: For the PSP it's fine. it's only 3.99 it's a good puzzler and just turn it to Japanese voices only if you can't handle the cheesy English voice acting. It's addictive like Lumines though on a different level. It was worth it for me and my wife enjoys it too.
  • VenomIreland
I still want MGS, Only one I haven't even tried. I don't want to resort to torrenting an ISO and burning it to CD. NOTE: This will definitely work on PS2, as I and several friends have tried it with back-ups of our games.
  • Phaper
Woo! Pride and Joy! I love that song :)
  • deanbmmv
@Devilbless: There's a demo on steam. If they fix the playability issues(like fall in a pit n you may as well quit cos even the thief can't get you out) then I'll recommend it.
  • Drencrom
    Awesome update :D

    Drencrom

  • deanbmmv
@ray89: I just quit the demo. It isn't that good, good on paper but kinda suck as an actual game. You can't crash either, which is kinda crap, especially for bikers, and the back to to track doesn't work, it put me back where i was several times.
  • sup_dawg
Still no Metal Gear Solid for PAL. Damn.

  • Toothball
@lolgreg prays to Joe Pesci: They'd probably rather you shell out for the next Guitar Hero disc instead of sticking with the one you have an expanding.

@WhatTheFrag: Is Numblast worth it? I've been tryihgn to decide whether I want it or not. As for Battlefield, I tried the trial last night and was really quite impressed, hopefully there'll be more maps released beyond the 4 (I think) that there will be but it should be good, another class or two in the future would be good too
  • lolgreg prays to Joe Pesci
Why are GH songs more expensive than RB songs? D:

  • KyleNichol
@Dorikasu: Actually, we've been waiting for MGS to come out in Europe for about a month now, it's Tekken 2 that's taking over two and a half years to be released outside American and Asia.
  • ray89
Is that a Fuel demo? I haven't checked the PSN store yet...been busy. But damn it, they release the demo now?! I bought the game thinking it'd be great...and I hate it. o.O
  • Devilbless
    Trine anyone?
  • Dorikasu
When will we get MGS I've been waiting for it to show up on the PSN EU for like two years now.

    Dorikasu

  • Bobinator2000
We don't half get some drivel... Although admittedly not half as bad as when it first began.

    Bobinator2000

  • WhatTheFrag
I have to say playing the trial for Battlefield 1943 was definitely fun even if it's just bitesized 30 min trial timelimits. I'll decide to buy it when I get back home though since I've yet to decide about Numblast for the PS3 (got for the PSP - still think it was a lame decision to split the two into two £3.99 games).
  • Mr Smee
    Three things missing:
    1) Operation:Anchorage
    2) Spyro -Year Of The Dragon
    3) Monkey Island Remake
