@InconspicuouslyUninspiring: Let me mention my own small issue I'm having with my Samsung 1080p TV...I've noticed that there's this small gray line across the left side of my screen where the black bar is when it's not in widescreen. I see it anytime I use my PS3. It's not that big of a deal, but it still bugs me! I've tried stretching the screen out for every channel I watch, but it didn't seem to help.

@Aekero: PSN is down less often than Live. Features wise I can see why you say that, but if you're just wanting to play an online game here and there, I'd say PSN is just as good or better considering the uptime.

Some of us have jobs so this isn't really a factor. I don't get home for about an hour or so from now, so it should be more than up and running by then. Move along children...

@Fallible.: Live reliability seems about in line with the 360 hardware reliability. The hardware to network analogy holds for PSN as well. I've never experienced an outage on PSN ever. This is the first I've ever heard of one. But I'm sure one of you guys will link to a story about PSN downtime to try to make me look stupid.

funny how PSN goes down and nobody notices but when LIVE goes down its damn near riot time. I was playing Killzone last night just fine. I did get logged out while playing campaign but I just figured thats sony.

@robinandtami: I used to have similar issues. Turns out it was the wiring outside my house- it was exposed to the elements. No kidding. You didn't notice it when you were browsing the web, but it made staying connected to PSN a nightmare.

You have a 360 though, right, and you don't have any issues with it? I'm not the most technically proficient though- having a professional techie for a significant other has made me lazy. Is it possible there's something wrong with your PS3 itself? What you're experiencing is not normal. Calling tech support can suck though- the people manning the phones aren't usually equipped to help you the extra mile- it tends to be strictly "stick-to-the-script."

That's my only real gripe about the 360, but other than that, it's a great console. But then again, so is the PS3, so whatever floats your boat.

@Bialia: Lucky you. Even when PSN is working perfectly... my PS3 gets constant DNS errors and won't stay logged in to PSN for more than 15 minutes at a time.

This after trying two different routers, trying both ethernet then wifi, setting a static IP for EVERY device on my network, putting the PS3 in the DMZ of my router, opening up all applicable ports (although DMZ should make that a moot point) manually inputting all of my network settings into the PS3, and sacrificing a small goat.

No other device on my network has such issues :( Maybe whatever they did during the downtime will help?

I preheat the oven to 500 degrees, rinse the potato in water, cover it with canola oil, sprinkle salt on it, wrap in foil, and put it on the rack for about an hour an a half to two hours depending on size. I would have baked some brownies instead, but I'm out of eggs.

I purchased an xbox 360 yesterday after visiting a friends house and loving the netflix streaming and the new mtg game. Been considering for a while, but this pushed me over the edge. I'm amazed at xbox live. I probably sound like someone who just stepped out of a timewarp.
