@moehannes: Depends on who you're talking too. Yeah you'd expect the rate of fire to be slow, but Boltguns do have the Rapid Fire special rule and they're fully auto in Dawn of War depictions. Bolt Pistol now...single shot I'd assume.

This is IT! Sign this guy up as weapons designer for the movie and we're set.
And looking at the Helgahst gun pics, this design looks so much more realistic and rugged than the plastic looking Helghast rifles from before.

@Kirohitaku: For other sci-fi universes, they seem to rely on convergent evolution to assume that most sentient species will tend toward humanoid shapes, and thus designing weapons that are friendly to humanoid wielders.

@Desolation_Angel: Mmmm, yes, I do love those bolters. He's talking about just Resistance weapons, though, in which case the Magnum was one of the most fun to use by far.

@Kirohitaku: This is actually a human weapon, but if it wasn't I'd tell you that these specific aliens are modified humans so they aren't really going to need different ways to control the weapon

That's an excellent replica! One of the more unique looking rifles Resistance has. I wonder how long it took for Hyokenseisou to make that.

A standard bolter actually has a really low rate of fire compared to heavy bolters, pintle mounted chain bolters or storm bolters. Then again the average Astartes are trained to NEVER miss a shot so they almost always exclusively use the single shot mode with a bolter. The insane shock and internal damage bolters do to soft targets means that almost all soft tissued species will be completely obliterated by a single bolt round (unless you're an ork) from the inside out.

@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: With spec-ops as my first choice in co-op, got to love the marksman. The secondary fire is so handy. I actually prefer it over the Halo battle rifle.

I didn't really like the campaign so I never really got to use the magnum much, but it was pretty satisfying. Just not as satisfying as seeing a bunch of red numbers pop up in quick succession accompanied by the little sound for headshot ribbons in co-op =p

I would have preferred the bullseye with its moving parts :) but still, amazing job.

I think we found our props maker for the Resistance movie.

@GeneSnoogans: The first person view in most games particularly that one don't really do much justice to how the gun looks and unless you notice other characters holiding the same gun as you, you won't realize how it looks unless it's a smaller weapon.
For the same reason - the tibetan war cannon from undying looks awesome.

The gun's design always confused me from the first person perspective. Looks like a damn good replica, from the looks of the first screenshot in the link.

I wonder if she does props for shorts.
Also if things like this exist, I wonder why there aren't KZ shorts as well yet (besides the whole in love one) considering the costume can be used for several amusing or interesting ones.

Now THAT is sexy! Definitely one of the coolest looking rifles in any FPS to date.

Man, I can't believe how well she made this. It really is awesome and almost completely full-featured.

The marksman is one of my favs, behind the HE .44 Magnum.
The magnum is just so badass and fun.
Gotta love a revolver with explosive rounds.

@Desolation_Angel: Yeah, everything would be fine until one of the million bugs that plague DoW2 would manifest itself to ruin your day. My guess is your commander would stop moving or attacking for no reason and nids would come to bite your left ball.

I'd like to see if this person can make a some Carbine furniture (sans the grenade launcher) for the SKS. Or better yet FarEye furniture for a Dragunov.
