Dammit, we want you to tell us stuff! Stuff like your guilty gaming pleasures.
This isn’t some marketing survey or whatever. It’s an emotional investment in you. Yes, we’re interesting in knowing you, Kotaku reader person. You probably know fucktons about us — more than you even want to, we’re sure. But, hey, we’d like to know about you, too.
Anyway, here’s today’s question…
Question: What is your guiltiest gaming pleasure? You know, that one game you secretly love or can’t stop playing even though it’s pretty crappy and you really should know better.
Me? It’s not actually a crappy game, but I really should know better. I have this terrible habit of spending hours searching for, download and installing Morrowind and Oblivion mods, only to spend half that time actually playing the damn things. Why did I do this? No idea, but boy it’s fun…

Friday, July 10, 2009 at 8:37 AMI always get urges to go back to Super Stardust HD to see if I can beat my previous score or get lucky and be amongst the top 10.
Sadly, I know this will never ever happen!
Yet I go back to it every time, because once I start I cannot stop until I see a better score than my previous one.

I did that for the longest time..
For me, once again, not necessarily a bad game, but i’m a 24 year old guy who still loves playing pokemon games.
And if you want to talk bad games – i enjoy to play shaq fu, and always have.

Friday, July 10, 2009 at 9:11 AMMy problem is same as David Wildgoose, I frequently get the urge to install oblivion then spend hours searching for newly made mods and old classics to play. After wasting all that time, I usually uninstall it after a week.

Friday, July 10, 2009 at 9:34 AMArmored Core 1 on PS1. I have finished it a million times and my AC is super powerful – so of course I go through the first few super easy missions of the game with enormous, expensive energy guns trying to get perfect scores: no ammo spend (beacuse of the energy weapons), no damage taken, objective completed.
Over and over again.
Then again, sometimes I just unload the 1000 round machinegun or the huge grenade cannon right into the face of the easiest enemy in the arena. Sadistic fun.

Friday, July 10, 2009 at 11:15 AMElevator Action. I know that I shouldn’t but I do. I have it bought it on PS2 (Taito Legends) and PC (Taito Legends) … just so I won’t be without it.
Confession is not working at clearing my guilty sin of playing this evil game.

Friday, July 10, 2009 at 12:14 PMI have replayed Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines so many times. Great game. Someone really needs to get onto making a sequel or “spiritual successor”.
Actually, more mature-themed RPGs in general, please.

Friday, July 10, 2009 at 12:51 PMAnything Sonic. Sonic 1 on the Megadrive was the first game I ever played, so I find myself buying any Sonic game that comes out nowadays, regardless of quality. Thank god half of Sonic Unleashed was at least average. That’s all I really expect from Sonic games nowadays…

Friday, July 10, 2009 at 1:12 PMEven though I’ve plugged an unhealthy amount of hours into Guitar Hero and Rock Band, enough to learn a real instrument or cure a cancer or four, I apologise for nothing!
Rather, my shame lies at the feet of Fiddy Cent. Even though I should know better, I kind of liked 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. The gameplay was competent (the devs did copy from the best) but everything else was stupidly hilarious.
What other game allows me to “jump over that big ass ramp” in my 4WD, only to have the ramp, apropos of nothing, EXPLODE as I jump it?! And there’s an achievement for it!
