This Week In Video Game Comics
Here’s a rundown of the new video game-based comics going on sale in comics shops in the U.S. this week, including the next Gears of War.
Click the thumbnails for more details.
Unbound Saga One-Shot… Written by Mike Kennedy; Art by Cliff Richards, Al Rio Via publisher Dark Horse Comics: Rick Ajax ain’t got time nor patience for trouble, but trouble seems to make plenty of time for him. If it ain’t one thing, it’s something else, and those things always seem to need a good old-fashioned pounding to put to rest. Lori Machete, on the other hand, can’t help but get into trouble like the proverbial fox in a henhouse. She may be easy on the eyes, but she can be hard on the jaw when the feathers start to fly.
Based on the (not-so) long-running original series and the upcoming video game from Vogster Entertainment, Unbound Saga reintroduces (for the first time) readers to the seedy back alleys of future Toxopolis and the satirical misadventures that follow Rick and Lori like a shadow . . . Rage off the page!”
Gears of War #8…Written by Joshua Ortega; Art by Federico Dallocchio; Cover by Shane Pierce Via publisher WildStorm Productions: A popular element in the Xbox 360 smash Gears of War 2 are the collectibles describing the tragic end of Sgt. Jonathan Harper. A nine-year veteran Gear, he was captured by the Locust during the assault on the Hollow. Eventually managing to escape, he was able to help a family reach the surface before succumbing to his wounds. The full story of this heroic, selfless soldier is finally told!
American McGee’s Grimm #3 (of 5)…Written by Dwight MacPherson; Art by Grant Bond Via publisher IDW: Episode 3: Strap on your chaps and ten-gallon hats-Grimm’s in the western comic book world! The dead walk the streets of Gravestone as resurrected outlaw Thumbless Jack Hammer squares off against Sheriff Sam Sixshooter in a showdown at high noon. It’s a fight the sheriff always wins… but this time Jack’s got a Grimm ace up his sleeve!

@Dandikus: I'd recommend reading Wasteland. It's pretty much like Fallout meets the stand kinda.

I would absolutely kill for a Mass Effect comic.
How about a game based on the Ash Vs Freddy Vs Jason comics?

@KommanderKeith: What cannot be unseen is what has been seen!
Waiting for Blackest Night to kick off.
Grouchu
@Dayvan Cowboy: That would not cause your chest to fold like that though
@IamNinja: July 8th!

@KommanderKeith: There appears to be a rope tied around her bust.

I thought at least one Street Fighter comic was coming out this week....
@KommanderKeith: your comment talked me out of buying the comic, haha.
TT
@WoozyB: Exactly. Although I need to finish out the collection, and proceed to the animated series. I loved how EA marketed Dead Space, and I hope it continues with that series.
what the hell is wrong with that woman's chest? her cleavage really shouldn't be running up that far looks more like a plumbers ass.
i've noticed that most games that come from comic books are HORRIBLE.
though if it's a comic book based on a game it is entertaining to me.
games based on comics just don't get a good developer,or a good enough budget. but every now and then there is a diamond in the rough and it's damn good.
bableebooblah-new and improved.
@WoozyB: agreed. the animated versions had SUPERB voice acting, too.

@NeVeRMoRe666: That Puppetman comic was the best thing PA did in ages.
Finding the Vault 77 jumpsuit in Paradise Falls was the perfect combination of terrifying and funny.
(He probably became a Ghoul/Super-Mutant and continued his murdering sprees across the wasteland.)
What about the StarCraft comic? :P

I wouldn't mind a Fallout comic. I would be a very happy man. Although I'm sure a comic with a setting such as a nuclear wasteland has already been done.
The only good game tie-in comic that I read in the last decade or so was Dead Space, and that was because they had a decent artist and it acted as a prologue.

They should make that InFamous comic like the one online. That one was sick.
whoa sexy!
