One of them asks what she's doing.

She replies she's cooking meat (niku).

Then I think the other guy asks why she's cooking meat (again niku = meat).



Either way looks like it was trapped and had just been tranqed.

Playing with my missus was fine till we got to the G-class quests and it gets really tough with just two players. Then found how to use Adhoc party on my UK PS3 and we can both connect to our PS3 and play with 2 other people from Japan while we chat on the mic.



I've never been happier about having a PSP & PS3. :)

@Desolation_Angel: This is a silly assumption to make, really. Monster Hunter and Pokemon don't really share any similarities in gameplay or goals.



....Though some could argue that you can capture Monsters in both, you don't do it in Monster Hunter so you can cock fight with them later, you do it so you get better rewards.



Monster Hunter is an action RPG with heavy MMO elements, like rare items, special missions, giant bosses, and special armors and weapons. It's a game with a steep learning curve that boasts one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever received from a game. Also, it's 100 times more fun when you play with friends.

"Tsukeppa" is an important word in the Japanese gaming lexicon.



It translates to "leaving it on all the time"...which is what a lot of MonHan players do. They plug in their PSP to a power outlet, get in bed at night to play....and continue playing til they fall asleep...and the system stays on all night. And a lot of the time they get up, go to work, and come back with out ever turning off the system....thus they accumulate an ungodly amount of playtime without actually 'playing' the game that much.

On the Wii's Nintendo Channel, you can view how many times you have played a game, and how many hours you have spent on said title....and the results were just crazy. One clown had played Smash Brothers 308 times, but had racked up over 5634 hours....meaning his average playtime was over 18 hours long.

Do you feel a crushing pressure weighing down on your head? Yeah, me too. It's probably best not to think about why Monster Hunter is so damn popular in Japan. Everybody plays, even the celebs who probably have more worthwhile endeavors (sex, money, sex).

I had a final fantasy XI character with ~a year of playtime, but at least 50% of it was AFK time. My character was never logged out if the computer was on.

@ChrowX: I highly agree with this. You start off with some lame armors and weapons. Then you start getting crazy ass armor and G armor and crazy weapons.

But yeah definitely no where near Pokemon at all. You capture monsters so you can get a lot more materials from the monster so you can be on your way to getting better armor.

It's a really interesting game.

@ZanzibarBreeze: I think Ichibashi and Inoue have only been on tv. Inoue on variety shows. But Tsumabuki has been in tons of stuff. He was in Dororo, Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, (the hilarious) Waterboys, and GTO.
