XIII Century: Blood Of Europe — All The Brutality, None Of The Plague
You thought things were hot in England during the 13th century, check out what they were up to in Eastern Europe.
Unicorn Games’ hardcore strategy game, XIII Century, recreates the battles between Teutonian knights and their target, Pskov city (which is part of present-day Russia). This expansion, Blood of Europe, zeroes in on more of the legendary fights as well as adding. Eight new missions in particular focus on the battles fought by Dovmont, Prince of Pskov.
The game looks pretty good both in the overhead God view and in the zoomed-in battlefield mode that actually lets you see the heads fly during combat. A definite requisite in historical Russian combat.

I love the sudden, absolutely un-transitioned end.
@dotdrew: If you stabbed me with this comment, I'd be fine...
because it's pointless...
@Siegeman: Hmmm.... "Alexander Nevsky, the famous defender of ancient Rus' western borders, is long gone" I guess you actually play as Dovmont of Pskov. According to wikipedia though, he only fought in one battle and a single siege. (Both of which he won) That doesn't seem like enough material for a game...

Kicking some crusader ass without having to play in the middle east is always A++ in my book, but if you get to play as Alexander Nevsky, this will be a must buy for me.

@Strom Thurmond: Ah, my good old imaginary computer gets alot of work.
Sigh.
I read "Brutality" and thought of Mortal Kombat
Then I thought about Mortal
Then I thought about Jeff Goldbloom's death
It was shocking. Especially for Jeff Goldbloom when they told him he was dead.
Then he delivered a beautiful elegy in dedication to his passing.
And Jeff Goldbloom told us all what we already suspected to be true.
That Jeff Goldbloom is great in bed.
Thought it was a XIII sequel :(
